CNN apparently has a transcript of the audio of Khashoggi's murder.

Not pleasant.

Better than hearing it.
Depends on the result you’re looking for. If you want us to change our foreign policy towards Saudia Arabia, it’d be better if we could hear it. Sensationalism is the only language Americans understand anymore. A transcript isn’t exciting enough to compete against re-runs of Lost on Netflix.

I don't speak Arabic though, so what could I possibly gain from hearing it? (John Bolton Logic)

Yeah, screams and the sounds of bone saws are incredibly difficult to translate.

These craven *******s.

We can use the transcript as the translation subtitle so we can hear and understand it at the same time. Americans need to listen to the tape in order to force Trump not to act like nothing has happened.

I don't think there is much value for the American public to hear a man being cut apart.

Do you really think anything will happen if we don’t? It’s viscious, yes. But let’s use that viciousness to accomplish something good.

I mean, they are darn close to having a veto proof majority in the Senate to do something about Saudi Arabia. Who knows how the calculus has changed since Haspell's debriefing.

Queue "Airplane" type humor

Typist- Oh God. Oh God. Argh. Argh. Gurgle Gurgle.

I watched a video of a man being beheaded by the Taliban during the early days of the Iraq invasion. They cut his feet off before they removed his head because he struggled. It's the sort of thing that sticks with you and it's not like watching a movie scene. It's a whole different beast. I cant imagine watching a recording of Khashoggi. And only hearing the audio wouldnt be much better because my imagination would probably create worse images than the real thing.

I do however think it should be played in a closed Congress session and attendance should be mandatory. Every single congressman and woman that wants to vote yes, and particularly those that want to vote no to doing something about this heinous crime, should hear or see exactly what it is they are voting about. Maybe it will sway the ones who think we should kiss Saudi ass for profit.

I don't know how you could watch video like that. It's bad enough the crime shows I watch, I don't want to see that for real. :(

Well, in a change from having a tanTrump about Mueller, he had one about Comey this morning instead

Wasn’t it a closed door testimony? So is he revealing information that’s supposed to be non-public?

The dark fascination of the human mind.

Didn’t see that video. But, I did somehow stumble upon one of someone being murdered by a domestic killer while doing research for a screenplay. Want to look away, but was unable to.

Kinda like the whole concept of people’s eyes are drawn to a train crash thing.

I was a young dumb teenager. 13 or 14 at the time. To say I immediately regretted it would be an understatement. It's all I could think about for days and I had nightmares.

Yes I saw Daniel Pearl’s death. I don’t know how anyone could do that to another human being.

I can see the curiosity, I might have done so at that age. I'm now old enough to know some things you just can't unsee. :(

Luckily, there is no video. Even if there was, there is absolutely no way the Turks would reveal that they would be able to get video. The fact that we have audio is the Turks showing a big intelligence operation.
