They can run this beyond inauguration, if the intent is to make sure he never runs again.

There seems to be some disagreement. Obviously, it's never been tested in court. Some say the senate only has the right to convict a sitting president. Others say the senate can carry through the trial as long as the charges have been brought.
 
I had a bad feeling in my stomach when I learned Trump was being advised by the indicted QAnon (traitor) who pled guilty General Michael Flynn again in the White House.

Trump Tower needs to be removed or renamed. Although who would want to buy that property in future?
 
It's actually a bit depressing that the decision to impeach is being made by corporations. That they are openly bragging about withholding their bribes until they get what they want.
I approve of the ends, but the means are a disgusting indictment of the US political system.
 
Republicans saying that impeaching Trump would be “partisan and would divide the country” don’t seem to be aware of the irony of them saying this.

...So rushing to confirm a conservative Supreme Court justice shortly before the election and contesting the legitimacy of a election your party’s president lost weren't partisan and didn’t divide the country then?
