Flashpoint - DC Animated.

Isn't it more of an issue of adapting stuff from Johns and he seems to love graphic violence?

Yeah I've read and enjoyed DC Comics for over 15 years now but that doesn't mean I like the trend in modern super hero comics for shallow displays of blood and gore.

It's messed up when you can't show a kid a DC Comics movie because of the violence.

An easy 10/10 for me. The violence was a tad bit jarring but I absolutely loved the Wayne's sub plot. That was incredibly well done if you ask me.

Really enjoyed Allen personally and thought they dealt with divergent world lines pretty effectively.

I'd place this second right behind Under the Red Hood as best animated movies. This was phenomenal, great animation, great story, awesome characters that I cared about. Very brutal but awesome

Tucker also makes an interesting comment in the commentary that I want to make a note of. If this Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox title sells well, we could possibly see more Flashpoint-inspired material, such as an animated adaptation (in whatever form) of the Batman "Flashpoint" material. He drives the point that these need to sell. So, to all you pirates out there, stop illegally downloading an instead actually support these titles. You want more variety, more titles, more everything? Well ... buy these movies!

My posts is not breaking any rules, whoever moderator it is, stop it.

So many pirates...

Well i trust you BH/HHH, but i doubt majority here ever bother to buy even a dvd out here.

How many of you pirates are even going to bother supporting this?

You have been consistently spamming about pirates every time someone posts a review or a comment saying they've watched the movie. You're spamming seeing as you've already made your point once before and are now posting accusatory posts indiscriminately. That's why I've deleted your post.

What makes this even more confusing is the fact that it's already out on Itunes so your consistent accusatory tone is getting tiring and interrupting any discussion worth having about the movie.

I'll let it up this time but if I notice that your next post in this thread is another accusatory post then I'll just simply give you an infraction. So consider this a general warning and either start to discuss the movie or stop posting the same accusatory message over and over again. That doesn't make anyone feel comfortable when trying to discuss a movie especially if the movie is already out legally.

Just watched Flashpoint 20 minutes ago. I liked it a lot. Probably my favorite DTV. They did a good job with it, art style took some getting used to, but everything else was pretty darn good.

And I bought it on demand and am buying the DVD later, so I will have supported it in two ways heheh. :word:

Question: Why does Flash not remember how the other universe was before Flashpoint happened, in the comics.....?? He gave Batman that letter from his father at the end....right??

Yes, he did give Bruce the note from his dad. Pretty cool stuff.

There were some plotholes for the movie, they never go into what happened to Barry's dad (who was a doctor in the comics, like Bruce's as well), or reveal that it was The Reverse Flash who killed Barry's mom. But on the whole, it was a pretty entertaining flick and it did what it neeeded to do and the most of what it COULD do within the 80 minute time constraint. From the very beginning with young Barry running and the words from his mom and his trip home, I already saw the makings of a great Flash flick (live action potential). That alone was exciting to see. And Superman is more heroic and inspiring here than he was in not only the book but also Man of Steel. I know that topic's a hornet's nest, but I'm just callin' it as I see it.

I'm just going to say right now, out of all the CBMs that came out this year, this was probably my favorite. I enjoyed it and wasn't like "what was that" like how I felt after MOS somewhat.

And that scene at the end where Flash leaves Bruce's cave and runs throughout Central City and up the buildings and over the ocean, that Raimi Spider-Man 2 type epilogue epic ass ending, THAT was fantastic and a lot of what I want to see in a movie.

The scene where The Flash takes on the battleships was fantastic. I really loved how they showed his superspeed in the movie, when he got his powers for the second time and saved Batman, showing how he was able to see his accident in slow mo in mid air was pretty damn cool.

Also - Hal Jordan Green Lantern had MORE and BETTER characterization here in this animated flick with 30 seconds of dialogue and some exposition than he did in the ENTIRE MOVIE of Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern.

Just sayin'.

I'm telling you...the DC animated people have yet to really let me down at all yet with just about any of their projects.

I don't know why they can't duplicate this talent with their live action features. It's because the animated people LIKE and APPRECIATE the DC mythos for what it is and have the passion for the characters that the filmmakers lack.

"I don't want to see Superman with sweat patches under his arm, I want to see him fly"

^^ Frank Miller said that. That about sums up the difference between the animation crew and the live action folks.

I don't want to see them be apologetic and "ashamed" for Superman and the great DC characters. They need to embrace them and believe that they can work as the great characters they already are. The only reason why they're not as big as the Marvel movies is because they haven't translated the essence that makes them great to a broader audience yet. They would be just as well liked, if not more so, if they could only achieve that with them. But every time they get the chance with most of these live action films, they drop the ball and do something that veers greatly from the source material with them, like they're "ashamed" to be making a movie about their great print superheros. I just shake my head.

Because it wasn't his past anymore. Just like he was forgetting the post-Crisis universe while in the Flashpoint universe.

Yes they have actually as technically you've been accusing people (without any sort of evidence) of being pirates. That would fall under name calling not to mention the consistent posting of said accusatory posts (spam: the posting of indiscriminate messages from the same user) .

As I said if I see one more accusatory post or name calling from you I'll go ahead and just give you an infraction. If you have anything further to say go ahead and either PM me or a different moderator/administrator. I won't let you to further derail this thread with your accusatory crusade on piracy when this thread is to discuss Flashpoint.

No one is stopping you from posting reviews by the way so I have no idea why you would even bring that up seeing as the posts in hand are the ones where you took it upon yourself to accuse people of piracy when you had no right to do so.

Not my animation style (I wish they had stuck a little closer to the JL designs of Doom or Crisis on Two Earths....IMO, it would have made this movie the best DTV yet.

Seems everyone has a issue with the animation style. It was obviously meant to look Anime-ish but thats the problem when non Japanese try to do Anime style.. it looks like it's lacking (Just look at the amicom superherione figures and comic series)

I know a lot of people really liked this movie but for me it was easily the worst thing to come out of DC animation in a very long time, especially considering their track record has always been pretty solid. I was legitimately crying from laughter multiple times watching this movie with my friends (granted we were all fairly stoned at the time).

...and that is why you "Don't get it". The movie was well done.

I did like it after a while, I liked the level of detail they could show with it. I recognized it was anime-ish looking going in somewhat.

The movements of the characters was excellent though. While the design were a bit questionable for some of them I would say the level of movement was absolutely fantastic.

The chemistry between Allen and the Batmen was beautiful too. No joke. :waa:

I loathe the design of the characters but the story was amazing. Took me a while to overlook the designs.
