Seeing this part realized in animated form was amazing. The fluid animation, the detail, the atmosphere. It was like the graphic novel come to life.

Same here and I think it works better than it does in the book with him talking about Mother Earth and whatnot.

And that moment is why Superman is the real hero of the story, without him everyone including Batman would've been dead.

Thank you for those Man-Bat' but please no more. I'll have a longer wait as need to import.

I haven't seen Part 2 yet, either, those gifs just make me more excited to see how accurate the film is. I've read the book so those gifs are not spoiling anything for me, but I decided to edit them in spoiler tags anyway, in case someone doesn't want to see until they see the film.

Is there any word whether they are going to release part I and II in a single package?

This movie has repaired my decayed opinion of the book.

It's still not my favorite portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman, and I still find some of the concepts (like the mutants) to be silly and kind of dumb, but the bigger ideas at play (the political aspect and ramifications things have on the world, the analysis of Bruce's obsession/conviction, the way he looks at combat surgically, etc), and the tone, are a blast.

Somehow I had forgotten just how good the book was outside of my one or two gripes with it. Not that I thought it was bad, but it's way better than I remembered. :woot:

My only criticism is that I wished the coloring was more like the book... Much more atmospheric.

No offence meant' Man-Bat, a sincere "thank you." Looks astounding' doesn't it. Ages for me to get with having to import. Wish WB wouldn't neglect their British audience

Yeah we really get the shaft over here luckily the Blu Rays aren't locked and I have a multi-region DVD player. I don't think we've even gotten half the DCAU releases over here.

Most of the DCAU DVD releases are region free... I've got them all happily on my shelf ready for my viewing pleasure at any time.

Plus Amazon are pretty quick with shipping, so I've never felt like I was missing out.

The DVDs are or just the Blu rays?

Still too long a wait for me sometimes, but at least I can still view. Will be ordering the "Young Justice; Season 2" release on Thursday. Been looking for a forum on the Titan reprints here (UK issues) as Stateside are always obviously ahead. Hard to avoid spoilers as I always want to peek!
Probably gonna watch TDKR Part One then straight into Part Two. Awesome. Get the popcorn ready. Hang on' suppose to be cutting back on sweet stuff!

The DVDs... all the season sets/movies are region free except Batman: The Animated Series Vol. 1

But we have that over here so it's all good.

Oh right I didn't even know cause my players multi region

I watched it yesterday, loved it. My favourite Batman animated movie since TAS. Only thing that really stood out was that the GCPD needs some serious target practice, the couldn't hit an elephant if it stood right before their noses. In the comic this is much less notable.

It's like that in films aswell, I'm akways like my god do these cops never do shooting practice :awesome:

I have to say as someone said above, the two films have given me a whole new appreciation for the book. I think it's cause finally I can out voices to it whereas before using Conroy and Daly's voices didn't quite work. I still definitely prefer the films though, sone if the inner monologues make the characters come off rather doughy but hey that's just me.

You heard Conroy's voice when reading it?... I always had Ironside.

Well I'd only heard Ironsides do the Mutant fight so I couldn't really get his voice in the quieter moments plus he's my voice for Darkseid. But like I say Conroy never quite fit with this, funnily enough e doesn't with Year One either but neither does Ben McKenzie.

I'm ready to see Part 2. I loved the book and Part 1 so much especially the music. Really powerful stuff.

For the large part of my Batman comic reading, It's always been Conroy as Batman, Hamil as Joker, and this soundtrack playing in the back on repeat.

Replace the music with some Shirley Walker goodness and that sounds perfect...
