Title:Ex Machina
Writer/Art:Brian K. Vaughan and Tony Harris
Publisher:DC/Wildstorm

Summary: You ever watch The West Wing and think about how cool it would be if the President was a superhero? Probably not, but in Ex Machina, writer Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man, Ultimate X-Men) explores this question when Mitchell Hundred once known as The Great Machine becomes Mayor of New York City. Once just a simple civil engineer, Mitchell encounters a glowing green light which gives him to power to talk to machines. Now retired, Mitchell hundred successfully runs for office and what we get is a great series which explores the political aspects of everyday life with a superhero twist.

Tony Harris (Starman) provides the pencils here and does a great job showcasing simple cabinet meetings to high flying super heroics. A great supporting cast just makes the characters even more loveable and easy to relate to. An excellent mix of politics and superheroes, Ex Machina is a definite must buy for anybody who enjoys comic books. If the last page of issue #1 doesn’t leave you breathless, you’re not even alive.

Elijya, quick question. I noticed in the locked thread youve put some of our reviews in there. How are goin about doing that? Are you picking the best or are all of these eventually going in there?

All eventually. I just gotta go over each one individually and make them up to snuff (match the formating, add/remove a few lines, maybe, make sure facts are accurate, check links, and I've added or changed pictures on everyone so far, just to be more effective)

Somebody wrote up Punisher MAX, but I'd like to have the MK Punisher write-up in their first, as another example

Title:Spider-Man Blue
Writer/Artist:Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale
Publisher:Marvel Comics

Summary: Wow, what a situation to be in. This guy has to choose between a beautiful, smart, sexy blonde, or a hot, fun loving, party girl redhead. If it weren't for all the super villains Pete would be in heaven. This is Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's love letter to the fans of that tragic beauty, Gwen Stacy. We go on a journey down memory lane with Peter Parker, reminiscing about his early days as the webslinger, and his troubles with the two beautiful women, vying for his affections. This is a really nice behind the scenes look at Spidey during his glory days. Now, don't think that this is all about the love triangle, we get appearances from many of Spidey's classic Villains. Like Rhino, Vulture, The Lizard, and the Green Goblin. So the action is there, and beautifully done by Tim Sale. Some of his best work in my opinion. The action is fierce, and the women are gorgeous!

If you're a fan of classic Spider-Man stories, or,interested in the team of Loeb and Sale from they're other masterpieces like Batman:The Long Halloween, or Daredevil Yellow, or even if you just really, really hated Spider-Man: Sins Past, then you'll love this.

Format: There is a collected edition of this fabulous mini series in both paperback and Hardback editions.

Title:Teen Titans
Writer/Artist:Geoff Johns and Mike Mckone
Publisher:DC Comics

Summary: What do teenage superheroes and sidekicks do on the weekends? Well hang out with other teenage superheroes and sidekicks of course. Title:Young Avengers
Writer/Art:Allan Heinberg and Jimmy Cheung
Publisher:Marvel Comics

Summary: When a group of teenagers are assembled to become a superhero team in the wake of Avengers Disassembled what you get is some of the best superhero series to come out of Marvel in years. Young Avengers written by Allan Heinberg(Wonder Woman, The OC) starts mostly new characters, with similarities to some of the greatest Avengers. Elijah Bradley aka Patriot, grandson to Isiah Bradley the first Captain America is somewhat the teams leader. Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan who resembles Thor but is really a witch. Teddy Altman or Hulkling who is a shapeshifter and Iron Lad who holds some very advanced technology and holds a very deadly secret. Others join such as Scott Lang’s daughter Cassie as Stature, a newly reformed Vision and a teenage girl by the name of Kate Bishop who has taken the name Hawkeye and Tommy Shepherd who has the power of superspeed. Together they are the Young Avengers and reading comics has never been this fun.

Jimmy Cheung’s art on this book is plainly put gorgeous. He does a great job drawing the teenage form as that really has never been easy. He is able to really depict action, drama, romance, heartbreak pretty much any emotion possible. This book if youre a fan of Teen Titans is really a must have for anyone really. Easily one of the best new series released by Marvel in the last 20 years and you can hold me to that.

Format:Currently on hiatus, it is being collected in both hardcover and trade paperback.

Not I. I had complete faith in the book.

JewishHobbit you still want some Sentry pics.

I was starting on a Sin City write-up,but figured id ask if you wanted the whole series or just each book individually.

obviously you'd do the whole series, it would be ridiculous to have each book have its own big rec post:confused:

I'm doing Hellboy tonight so step off beeyotches

I refuse to believe that anything with the name "Booze, Broads, & Bullets" can be truly unredeemable.

Title:She-Hulk
Writer/Artists:Dan Slott and Juan Bobillo, Paul Pelletier and various.
Publisher:Marvel Comics

Summary: Jen Walters is an attorney, of the best around. She’s meek, mild mannered and utterly forgettable. But when the time comes she transforms in the female green goliath She-Hulk and she will tear you in two while smiling at the cameras. This is the world of She-Hulk as Dan Slott writes an exciting series in which Jen has been recruited to be a lawyer for the superhero law firm of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway, the only catch being they want Jen Walters, not She-Hulk and this proves to be troublesome as trouble is always around the corner.

Featuring a hilarious cast of characters which include a shape-shifting process server Ditto and Awesome Andy. One of the Mad Thinker’s androids who is unable to speak and communicates through a small chalkboard around his neck. Dan Slott really crafts one of the funniest stories around and the art by various artists really compliments the mood. Really She-Hulk is laugh out loud funny and its great use of continuity will attract long time Marvel readers and new readers alike If you don’t believe how great this heres an example of the crazy court cases involved. One case involves Spider-Man suing the Daily Bugle for libel and involves a hilarious twist ending. Really check it out.
