As much as I hate Jason X, I would ****ing love to play on that spaceship... Holy **** that's a great idea.
Grendel is the spaceship from JX & Lazarus is the boat from Jason Takes Manhattan.
The developers have stated on the official game forums and elsewhere that whether they'll be able to include content from FVJ, at this point, depends on the success of the game. There are complications via rights issues, but I'm assuming they'll be able to overcome said issues if they reach a certain benchmark.
They didn't say if the same applies to the reboot, but I'd guess it does. They've gone on record many times in stating they want this to be the best F13th experience it can be so they plan on adding as much as they can with their DLC.
That's probably why there's currently no part four Jason or Roy Burns (imposter). They're waiting to see how well it does before they unload that stuff into DLC down the line.
I can't believe people want anything from Jason X. Jason in space could quite possibly be the worst thing any horror franchise has ever done.
What's done is done and you can't unmake it. Might as well make the best of it and a Jason X map for this type of game would be rad.
The only way a Jason X map would be good, was if it took place in the simulator from the film, whereas the map would look exactly like one of the locations from an earlier film. IE not on a space ship and not in space. Theres nothing redeeming about JX save for the fact its a blueprint on how NOT to make a Friday the 13th film.
The spaceship angle would give the maps more variety and in a multiplayer game, that is a must. I hate Jason X for what it did to the franchise, but if some good can finally come of it, I am all for it.
I guess, I just think you sacrifice quality for variety by including anything from that film. For what that film did with the franchise, I don't think it deserves being included in what is essentially a love letter to the series. But hey, I don't have to use the Jason nor play on that map, so no big deal either way
Yeah, Jason X while bad for a film is perfectly fine material for a video game, adds some nice variety to the game on a visual level, I see no reason not to add it.
Variety for the sake of it doesn't mean much. Jason X added "variety" to the franchise by changing up the location and the character, look how that turned out.
An interactive experience is not the same as a film. Entirely different rules and concepts apply.
Most of us here are not fans of Jason X as a film, but recognize the gameplay potential of a map based on that film.
How is it dumb if they're trying to create an "end all, be all" F13th game? As much as its hated, JX is a part of the franchise, and as iterated already, has a lot of gameplay potential. You don't really seem to have a reason it shouldn't be included other than "it's so dumb."
Geez, did the film's dvd physically assault you or something?.
Anybody complaining about JX being in the game because it's stupid should also be complaining about pretty much anything from the series making its way into the game (primarily zombie Jason since the whole idea of a maniac being brought back to life in the first place by lightning is laughable
No, I just understand better than most(well better than anyone here at least) as to what would make for a compelling F13 experience as it relates to this game and nothing from JX makes the cut.
Wow. Just wow. Guess I'm gonna have to re-arrange my list of the most arrogant posters on the hype again.
