Slott's revelation was that the Skrulls wanted to place a Skrull on every Initiative team, wasn't it? I don't think it necessarily meant that every existing Initiative team already has a Skrull on it.

I think at the time, they were "on their way" to having a Skrull on every team. If they succeed with that goal, then someone's going to get outed.

Of course, Aralune would be the obvious choice since she's a shapeshifter already. Pretty easy for a shapeshifter to infiltrate a team with a shapeshifter on it.

The talent behind The Order is good enough, I think, that if the book gets the axe, it'll pull a Runaways and come back with a better marketing strategy and a new number one.

Bah, keep the Skrulls away from all of 'em! Let Fraction do what he wants and if THE ORDER fades into the sunset, it should do so on his terms.

If Marvel gave BKV and Alphona another shot, I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to the same for Fraction and Kitson. Besides, The Order is a more viable franchise with a much greater crossover potential. It's straight up superheroes.

I think the Order could do with some better costumes if they come back. I'd say leave Henry and Calamity's costumes be, but redesign the rest. That target uniform is kind of boring.

It's their thing, though. I don't mind the costumes at all, other than Henry's cape. Capes are lame.

It's only their thing because it's what they've worn so far. The yellow and blue uniforms were the X-Men's thing until Chuck let them design their own. They could even tie it into the corporate nature of the team: "We've been going over some studies undertaken recently to improve our public image, and we've found that individual costumes test better among the key 16 to 34 demographic. So we've flown in a few of Milan's finest to work up some new looks for you guys. Oh, except you, Milo. I believe Mr. Stark has something special for you."

I have no idea what kind of numbers RUNAWAYS had, but I would presume it was selling better considering Volume one lasted 18 issues back in the era of Joe Q's run when you were canned by issue #6 if you slipped into the Top 90.

You're correct, it would make a lot of sense for Marvel to invest in THE ORDER because they are more akin to mainstream Marvel and all that, but I think we all know Marvel does a lot of things that make utterly no sense. Now, to be fair, there are times when Joe Q's Marvel does something right or invests in the proper thing, but I don't count on it. I haven't heard much critical acclaim for it or whatnot. RUNAWAYS at least had WIZARD at it's back.

Henry's cape fits. He's the leader, after all, an a flyer. Capes are iconic. Unless it is THE INCREDIBLES, which this isn't. Hell, Steve Rogers wore a cape as Nomad, and that made even LESS sense.

I wouldn't mind seeing Milo take over as War Machine if Slott's going to continue to ignore Rhodey.

Meh, I'd rather Milo not have Rhodey's leftovers. Especially since we don't want to start a trend of "War Machine being for black guys". That seems a bit prejudice. Supernaut is fine. It is odd how they empowered everyone else but specifically gave Milo a mech which could always be replaced, repaired, or enhanced. Maybe they want to keep him around beyond a year.

I know, it just makes little sense for martial arts types. Hence one of many reasons why Taskmaster's UDON suit was more functional.

True. That would be rough. I mean, poor Charles Xavier keeps getting uncrippled and then crippled again. It must suck.

Plus, as a Marine, maybe he's used to relying on his guile and skill with various weapons and machines. Supernaut's a giant walking tank, in a sense.

I re-read the last issue, and it appears that M.A.N. from S.H.A.D.O.W. is another secret military cabal and the man with the shades is called General Softly. That's actually pretty hilarious, Gen. Softly. He'd HAVE to be a bad-ass just to make up for it.

Anyway, Namor in a few days, and it looks good.

Today has brought bad news for THE ORDER. The Top 100 sales are in for Dec. 2007 and while THE ORDER shipped two issues that month, #5 & #6 (issue #7 ships in two days), they both sold poorly. Issue #5 sold at #94 of the Top 100, and issue #6 wasn't in the Top 100. Marvel has little patience for books that fail to remain in the Top 100, regardless of quality (unless they are MARVEL ADVENTURES, which isn't meant to sell on that level).

I'd rather not have the team go rogue. They're good characters and that is rare. Just keep them warm for an unlikely relaunch.
