Inspired by a recent discussion about the humor in Spidey comics, I thought I'd open up a thread devoted to it.

That "Gloves leave... no fingerprints..." always cracks me up. :funny:

Okay-I said "funny". Not hilarious to the point of potential internal injury. It took me 10 minutes to catch my breath.

Does anyone have scans from the Spectacular issue-I believe it came RIGHT after "The Child Within"-where Spidey teamed up with Frog-Man against the Walrus & White Rabbit?

None of the Leap Frog/Walrus pics I found were very clear, so I went with this one.

That's gotta be some of the worst art I've ever seen in a comic book. Man, standards have really fallen down.

Every moment between Spider-Man and his biggest supporter (J. Jonah Jameson *cough*jr*cough*)

I remember one where he stopped by the Bugle office, they stared at each other for a minute, then Spidey told JJ "It's late. Why don't you go home and get some sleep?" and swung off. JJ flipped. "What? Aren't you going to insult me? Web me to my chair? stick a cigar up my nose?"

I loved Spideys' reaction when he met the Walrus and the Walrus said: 'I've got the proportionate strength, speed and agility of a Walrus!"

Amazing...

I swear I'm not kidding but that was exactly the first thing that came to mind when Aziz mentioned Jameson. JJJ'S stunned response was priceless. The moment went from funny to back to reality when Jonah looked at a photo of Marla and rushed home. He actually thought Spider-Man was giving him some dark, twisted message about his wife's safety.

It was Spect Spider-Man 241, by the way. One of my favorite Spidey eras ever.

I'm blatantly ripping off Chris.

He should be able to get away with it, though; his eyes are covered.
