FX's The Americans

I'm really shocked they had Paige do that. I thought things would be ok on that end after meeting her grandmother (who didn't seem that bad).

Should be interesting to see how Philip and Elizabeth react to the "Evil Empire" speech. Especially after Philip was about to say how he doesn't like the evil things they do for the good of the Soviet Union. At least I think that was what he was going to do.

Where's Martha?

Did anyone else think Stan and Sandra were going to see that some pics of her were missing? :woot:

Philip and Liz better hope the pastor is one of Gaberial's. Silly Paige.

Philip and Sandra? Seems possible now after Philip was thrown back by what Liz said to him. She sounded exactly like Gaberial when she told Philip that he wasn't seeing clearly.

Good for Beeman. Getting credit for his work past and present. Sucks the deal for Ana didn't happen but I never expected it to. A Russian agent for another Russian agent? Not much of an upside for the U.S. government. I expect him to try again next season with Oleg being the bargaining chip in the deal. Might have to go at it alone again to get it done.

It's interesting that we didn't see the pastor on the other end of the phone. Not that I think he wasn't the one Paige called, but perhaps we were not supposed to see his reactions. That could support the theory that the pastor is also an agent working for Gabriel.

Ive just finished watching now, and this is along my line of thinking.

This…Gabriel seems too smart to not have a plan up his sleeve to watch this whole situation with Paige. It may also be that Paige wasn't really talking to anyone on the phone, and may have just been going through the motions and talking to the phone as a sort of therapy, to unburden her thoughts..but no one was on the line….we'll see.

I have a feeling Philip will end up sleeping with Mrs. Beaman :ilv: …and that will end up causing a riff between him and Stan, and because of it, finds out Philip and Elizabeths true identity. Henry might find out and since he's spending a lot of time with Stan..and also has the hots for Mrs.Beaman, might be the one who tells Stan.

Sucks what happened with the deal for Nina, although nobody knows she's already out of the prison.

And where's Martha? I expected to see someting after Philip revealled himself to her during the previous ep….

It's hard for me to buy that Pastor Tim is a spy or whatever since within the show it was only by chance that Paige met that one girl who eventually led her to going to Tim's church. And there's all the other churchgoers. Seems too elaborate of a plan just for Paige.

PAIGE ..PAIGE WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?
philip and Mrs. Beaman...You know they gonna do it

THE AMERICANS CAST TALK SEASON 4 AND THE FALLOUT FROM PAIGE'S DISCOVERY
What's next on the series and how much longer it could go.

Fields said no decision has been made about when The Americans will end, but he and fellow EP Joe Wright do feel as though, as they complete Season 4, it feels like they’re close to the end of the second of three acts – but whether it takes five or six seasons (or more?) to complete that third act, “we’ll discover as we get into it.”

That season preview. Wow!

Nice slow pace premiere before **** really hits the fan.

The biggest mistake they made was telling Paige and Martha.

I wonder if Philip's growing relationship with Ms. Beaman will turn his son (who has been largey absent - so much so that i can't even remember his name :hehe:) against him.

Elizabeth is almost always wrong when she argues with Phillip and yet still does what she does. It is like she can't help herself. He was completely right about Paige and it has the potential to ruin all their lives.

I can't believe they took that virus thingie to their house. :hehe:

Somewhere along the way Martha morphed from the most annoying character to one of the most compelling characters in the show. I'm loving that she's now a willing participant.

I'm also hoping that Nina is brought back to the main plot.

Poor Nina..she just can't catch a break.

The scene of Philip killing that guy on the bus to that girl's walkman music was funny as hell!

I want to know now what they're going to do with Pastor Tim.

Pastor Tim and his wife are gonnas, and now that Philip and Elisabeth don't have alibis due to them being quarantined, Paige is going to blame them!

Looks like nosy Stan might undercover the whole thing while Liz & Philip are quarantined.

Paige really ****ed things up. If their cover holds beyond next week and they do get the sit down with the pastor and his wife. They should kill them right in front of Paige. Drill it in her head "this is what we do!" before putting her on the plane to Russia.
