FX's The Bridge

Premiere was just about even with the premiere of The Americans.

I'd say it was better. I'm like really interested in seeing where it goes. I was for The Americans at first but then just bleh but this was good throughout the whole episode IMO and the preview of the season made it look damn good

No, I meant in ratings.

I liked the pilot for The Americans (not as much as The Bridge), but The Americans lost me pretty quick.

Oh lmao. Your comment is at the top of the page on my phone so I thought you just meant like in quality lol

I really enjoyed the pilot. It helps too that I have a girl crush on Diane Kruger. :hrt:

What's the deal with the subplot about that couple? My guess is that the dead husband will somehow be related to some of the murders in Mexico.

I am thinking that the guy who took that girl across the border and locked her in the trailer was taking her to the dead husband (that he doesn't know is dead yet). I am thinking that when the wife opened that locked door there were more girls in there. :(

started off rather slow, but the last 20 min were great. show definitely has a lot of potential. looking forward to the rest of the season

I was bored until Lillard's character came into it, the ending sparked just enough interest to warrant checking out the 2nd episode. Is Diane Kruger's character supposed to be mildly autistic?

I think she has Aspergers.

Pretty good but I can't stand the female lead. I know she has some unknown (at least for now) condition but she just comes off as a *****, especially in the opening when she was just gonna let that guy in the ambulance die.

TRAFFIC JAM AT THE BRIDGE

Awesome. :)

She definitely has Asperger's.

The Bridge is a present-day crime thriller exploring the tensions on the U.S.-Mexico border. When an American judge known for her anti-immigration views is found dead on the bridge connecting El Paso and Juarez, Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger) from El Paso PD must work with her Mexican counterpart from Chihuahua State Police, Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir), to catch a serial killer operating on both sides of the border. Marco understands the slippery politics of Mexican law enforcement, and while his police force slowly succumbs to the pressures and demands of the cartel, he’s one of the last good men in the department. He’s charming, but also cunning as he will do whatever it takes to get what he needs. This does not sit well with Sonya, who has Asperger’s and strictly follows rules as well as protocol. Her candid and off-putting personality fuels an unforgiving drive for truth. The case quickly pulls them into a string of murders on the border, a scene already consumed by illegal immigration, drug trafficking, violence and prostitution.

Maybe they need to interview some more actual Aspergers people, lol. Not only is she not like my kid, but she isn't like any of the others I've met. :)

I have no opinion on the porrtrayal of her apergers simply due to the fact that my model for Aspergers is Abed Nadir. I don't know if I've ever know a kid or anybody with it honestly. Besides, it's tv. They've been using autism and Aspergers like this for a few years now. Instead of just making characters a bit quirky they end up explaining it all away with Aspergers or something

The second episode was a bit better, it's very basic like AMC's The Killing but lacks a character like Holder to carry it through the frequent slow patches. I get why Kruger would want the role but so far her character is mostly just irritating.

This! She irritates the hell outta me

I actually like Krugers character. Her condition is very interesting.

i wish all women were as upfront as Kruger's character when wanting sex

Here is a little preview of the UK/French version the Tunnel starring Game Of Thrones Stannis Baratheon and Harry Potter's Fleur Delacour from Sky Atlantic

I'm curious as to why that girl seemed to willingly get into the trunk of that guys car in the pilot...

It looked like she thought he was a Coyote who was going to take her to the US away from her pimp.
