Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 3

I think everybody does. Except for Wolverine, most of the longest running X-Men spin offs in the comics are for splinter films - X-Force, New Mutants, X-Factor, eXcalibur... Also it just seems weird to greeenlight a Madrox film when Gambit is yet to be released, what if that film tanks?

Fox is weird, we know that by now. The fact that Gambit debuted in a Wolverine origins movie says it all.

I can see now that their solution for this to be a success, is to make this lower budgeted as possible. I also sense that with Multiple Man. So if both films tank, they wouldn't lose so much money. From X2 to Dofp and the first three Fantastic Four films - all of them cost more than $99 million. But obviously something changed and the budget for their films are lower. Deadpool and Logan cost less than 99 million and from the looks of New Mutants, it doesn't look like it cost them $99 million. I would surprised if Fox gave this a bigger budget than Logan, but I hope they do. I don't want this to look cheap and made for TV - which I can say about New Mutants.

That or they wanted to plant seeds for other spin offs they had in mind like Gambit and Deadpool.

So anyway, Lizzy Caplan is on the verge of joining Gambit. Good pick- she's a great actress with a lot of range, if Masters of Sex is any indication.

Lizzy Caplan is in talks to join the cast of “Gambit,” Variety has learned. The “Masters of Sex” star will play the female lead in the superhero movie. Details of her part are being kept under wraps.

The X-Men spin-off stars Channing Tatum as Gambit, a ragin’ Cajun whose ability to control kinetic energy enables him to weaponize playing cards and other projectiles. He’s also pretty handy with a b? staff. In the comics, Gambit was a member of thieves guild before joining the X-Men. “Pirates of the Caribbean” director Gore Verbinski will slide behind the camera on the film. It’s eyeing a Feb. 14, 2019 debut. Fox is releasing the film as part of its continued expansion of the cinematic mutant universe.

Wow, I was lowkey bummed she wasn't chosen for Domino (I'm in love with Zazie though, so not a big loss), but the universe works out in mysterious ways! Dare I say she's better than Seydoux.

Man, this movie is happening...and to think it was one of the poster boys for development hell comic book movies. I guess there is hope for Flashpoint film, Man of Steel 2, Spawn reboot and Inhumans film (Ok maybe not the Inhumans)......If only we got that Hellboy 3...

Yeah, I feel like the rewrites following DP/Logan would be along the lines of cutting out characters to focus more on Remy and whomever he's partnered up with, be it Bella Donna or Madrox or Dani Moonstar or Rogue or whomever they want to use. Make it more intimate like the recently successful solo films. So who knows. They've been reworking it for awhile now though so I'm excited how different this film will be.

That said, I can't picture her as Bella Donna. I hope there's some significant rewrites. I'm just not a fan of the character and the storyline...talk about borefest.

While I want Rogue, IF they were to use her I’d really hope they’d still get Anna. She’s sitill an Oscar winner and a very successful actress who’s working a lot at the moment. So I wouldn’t want Lizzy as Rogue but anything else I’m fine

it's almost certinly not rogue.why would rogue be reintroduced in gambit which is never going to interact with x-men.x-force maybe and not films with first class/apocalypse cast.meanwhile belladonna is important part of gambit's backstory and the thieves and assassins guild storylines.
