Well, you need a need a united North in order to be prepared for the coming Winter, the only way to do that is to rid it of Boltons and Freys. Stannis with or without Melisandre and her prophecies is still the rightful king of the Baratheon dynasty and as such it is still his duty to protect the realm. Stannis takes his sense of duty extremely seriously.

Look, I like Stannis as much as anyone, but the dude's the B team in terms of Realm saving compared to Jon Snow, the Night's Watch and Mel.

I'm not saying Stannis is more important than Jon, but you can't dismiss Stannis' contributions to the realm either. Everything he does in ADWD is about reinforcing the realm's protection and he's a necessity for dealing with the types that would only serve as a hinderance to that.

He may do all that but man do I hate that man.

Question for you book readers, in the books is the hound really dead? :(

Yay! He's my favourite character!

Hound is dead, Sandor Clegane lives on!

There's a very credible theory that he's alive but it hasn't really been confirmed.

Hope so. Surprised there was no Hound Vs The Mountain.

Who do you think is going to champion against Cersei in her trial by combat?

Well here it is folks. D&D did an interview on June 18th and in it they state that their plan is 7 seasons and they know the ending and are already discussing it. Read below:

With some characters on the television adaptation having already reached the end of their so-far published storyline, many are wondering how far the fifth season will extend into the two remaining books, and if the television series will continue to diverge from Martin’s written work.

Benioff and Weiss reveal, “We have talked to George extensively about where he’s going with the books, and will continue to do so. His books are the blueprint for the world we’re building. Ultimately the show needs to work on its own terms, and keep on moving. Our job is to square that necessity with George’s work to the best of our ability.
We’re not going in strict order because we can’t. We can’t adapt Feast and leave out half our characters. We’ll be drawing heavily from Feast and Dance in season 5.”

They confirm that 7 seasons is still the plan, and that the end to George’s saga is absolutely, 100 percent satisfying. Now that they have passed the halfway point in their storytelling, they’ve started looking towards that end. Benioff says, “I feel we have so many conversations about later seasons. And this year we’ve started talking about the very end… We want this to work.”

7? I always thought it was 8. Interesting!

I hope the Golden Company or the Greyjoys won't get cut, they can't! Golden Company is important with Dorne.

Most of us figured it'd go to 8. I'm surprised and curious how they can wrap up this huge story in only 30 more episodes. They are going to be doing some serious changing and cutting.

I can't wait to see how they try and rationalize how Grey Worm's love story is more compelling than the Golden Company! :funny:
