Would also make sense why Varamyr Sixskins is cast on this season

That's decent evidence. More evidence for it happening than Cleganebowl.

Eh, I disagree pretty heavily on that. Look at the link I posted a few pages back about all the clues linking the Hound to being the gravedigger. Add that to the fact that it's been confirmed in the show that the Mountain is Robert Strong, and I'd say evidence for the Cleganebowl is pretty heavy.

I don't see Hound becoming the Faith's champion, i can see him become Sansa's guard. Isn't the Cleganebowl also about the trial by combat happening for Cersei? I'd rather have the theory that Lancel Lannister fights and dies by Robert Strong.

We need to see some more Cersei madness, before she falls.

Oh, no doubt that the Mountain is Robert Strong. And I also believe that Sandor is alive and on the Quiet Isle, I just don't think he's going to fight his brother. It isn't really even his brother anymore since Robert Strong is literally a walking decapitated corpse. He's not really in fighting condition, since the description said he had a limp and bandages all over his face; the septons of the Quiet Isle probably aren't in contact with the High Septon; and I imagine the reason why Sandor is there in the first place is because he wants to live out the rest of his days quietly and not fighting and killing like before.

Plus, is the Hound really the type of guy who wants to immerse himself into the Faith of the Seven?

He'll be back, I'm sure of it, otherwise GRRM would have killed him off rather than leaving it open-ended, just not in Cleganebowl.

We should get some casting news later, since that's when the SDCC panel is.

So I finished the first book and started the second. These are a pretty good read, I'm a bit sorry I hadn't started earlier.

I think they are easier to read after seeing the show, makes it easier to visualize everything. :)

New S5 cast members include Keisha Castle-Hughes, who earned an Oscar nomination for her starring role in Whale Rider. #GOT #SDCC

Hmm, no Varamyr Sixskins?

Jonathan Pryce is going to be so awesome. So very awesome.

Is there the possibility of more cast members being announced later? Like Greyjoys, if they're in the season?

Or is this it?

Awesome Jonathan Pryce and Alexander Siddig!

Jonathan Pryce scenery chewing in the GI Joe and Pirates Of The Caribbean movies I find entertaining

Okay, so the official press release states that this is just SOME of the new cast, and in previous years they haven't announced it all at once. So there's still hope for the Greyjoys. But, it lists Trystane as the heir to Dorne, which means...

Arianne is cut.

Let's call D&D sexist! :b

PS. But yeah it's a weird decision for sure.

Seems to imply we'll see Dorne's true colors a bit quicker, and that if the fAegon plotline is still in the works for the show, the proposed Dorne-Golden Company alliance might be dead in the water for the books.

It does mean that the entire Dorne subplot will feature mostly original material- unless one of the Sand Snakes takes Arianne's place. I could see Nymeria seducing the Oakheart and convincing Myrcella to follow their plot.

The fun part is that the recasting for her and Trystane having an actor implies we'll see just how desperate the situation is for Myrcella- one of the missing beats from the books is what it's like for a Lannister to experience a Sansa-style situation. And considering how Dorne comes off as a Stark counterpart from the other side of the honor-tracks, we should have plenty of reasons to keep liking the Martells, or see how they deal with family conflicts over Myrcella's life.

That sucks. Janina Gavankar would have made a great Arianne.

Well Jonathan Pryce as High Sparrow is cool. So it's a not complete and utter ****pocalypse.

Cutting the Greyjoys, Arianne and Golden Company has severly killed hype for the show.

To be fair, it's probably one of the few characters you can cut right now that absolutely has sexist connotations at least. The whole Dorne subplot revolves around how the eldest child inherits and the notion that women are far more equal. Cutting the female character that is the heir to Dorne and the representative of these themes smacks of something uncomfortable, however unintended.

Not to mention Trystane is just a balls-to-the-walls strange choice anyway.

So they've possibly cut Victarion? Thats...interesting.

Not just Victarion, Euron too. Euron who has been touted as Dany's endgame villain for a while now.

But these cuts aren't indicative of the book IMO. D&D did recently say that henceforth the show is the show and the books are the books, with only a basic blueprint to connect them.

In a way I'm kind of happy. This way the show doesn't spoil the books and they can exist as separate entities.
