Considering I'd expect the Mountain to be in full armor including a helmet that covers his face, maybe they'd simply recast.

You are not suppose to say such things nemesis. :o

Do you think the show will hide the Mountain's identity, or play it straight? Depending on the sparrows' fanaticism, I could see the practicality in using the Ser Strong alias.

Well, we as the audience know that it's Gregor, but I think in-universe they'll have to hide his identity because of his Frankenstein like appearance. (which I'm certain will be a big unveiling moment.)

Considering what they did with Selmy, I think they will play it straight, or continue to make it obvious without saying his name.

The added material especially emphasized Jon's leadership abilities.

That's what I liked about the Craster's Keep episodes. If this is what D&D are planning for Jon, I wonder if
Stannis is hanging at the Wall so that Jon can be the one that leads the campaign against the Boltons in Winterfell. Taking more direct action against the Warden of the North would help further build up the assassination, lending a bit more credence to Bowen Marsh's "for the Watch," since Marsh could easily think that Jon is trying to subvert the NW, turning them into a weapon for Mance Rayder.

They could have Stannis run Castle Black as his seat for a while, and have him gather the Northern lords (Crowfood, etc.) to him there. It would help them more visibly build up towards the Battle of the Wall, establish Stannis's ruling style some more, and make the Marsh group's betrayal make more sense.

It was hard for Jon to sell Watch neutrality to his opponents in the books. Imagine how much harder it would be if they find themselves the staging ground for Stannis's campaign in the Battle for the North, with someone pointing out that the Northerns are probably seeing Jon's alliance with Stannis as a tacit endorsement against the Boltons. It would also make the offer of making Jon Lord of Winterfell just a bit more powerful if we see he has lords already likely to pledge him fealty.

And I love the idea of comparing Castle Black to Winterfell and Kingslanding as seats of power. It would help showcase the different strengths and weaknesses of each court before (and if) Dany finally arrives. They could have the show's Westeros explicitly feature Stannis having control over a vast portion of the far North, giving him a strategic and political victory while Cersei goes nuts and Bolton tries to wheedle out the Great Northern Conspiracy.

I, for one, am glad we got our spoopy skellingtons instead of this drek they called Children of the Forest concept art

Some thoughts on possible convergences in TWOW:

Stoneheart

She will probably act as a mentor figure to Danaerys, once she lands on Westeros. I expect Aeron's krakens and Euron's reavers will smash the majority of her fleet and those she brings over from Essos. At this point, Victarion is Moqorro's creature, and thus poses a threat to Euron and Aeron's ambitions. Thus, intercepting the fleet and smashing it. Thus, Dany will find herself in need of support once she lands. Enter Stoneheart.

One of the Lady's nicknames is "Mother Merciless." Stoneheart's actions are driven be a sense of revenge, and that revenge is rooted in a mother's love and grief for her shattered family. The theme of family is further tied to Stoneheart through the makeshift orphanage Brienne encounters in AFFC. Similarly Danaerys is tied to the theme of the mother, as a mother of dragons and mother of freedmen. Both are tied to fire, Stoneheart through R'hllor and Danaerys through her dragons. Therefore, I believe that Dany will have a very subdued landing in Westeros and will be intercepted by Stoneheart and the Brotherhood. I think the dragons will not be a problem for Dany in Westeros; it seems that much of her arc in TWOW will be focused around embracing the Targaryen words, thus gaining some control over her dragons. Her arc will reach its peak in Westeros when she discovers a means of reconciling her family's words with her desire to act as a mother to the downtrodden, neglected and abused. Enter Stoneheart to help guide Danaerys toward this reconciliation.

The Volanquar Prophecy

Jaime isn't going to kill Cersei. I think he has enabled her death by forming a close bond with Brienne, however. I do believe that the turning point in Brienne's story will see her dealing with a situation similar to Jaime and Aerys, and having to come to grips with her decision and self-righteousness.

Personally, I think that Children of the Forest concept art looks fantastic. Looks like something out of a Del Toro fairy tale. Much better than the little human girl we ended up getting.

Edit: I noticed you said you were glad we got skeletons... you do know that the skeletons that attacked Bran and company in the finale weren't the Children of the Forest, right? Those were wights. The little girl flinging fireballs was a Child of the Forest. That concept art was a design they considered for her and her kind. I assume they dropped this design for budgetary reasons and because it would have required the girl to spend hours in a makeup chair.

That little girl should have spent her 5 hours in the makeup chair and should have thanked HBO for the privilege! :o

Brynden's been watching it all. With a Thousand Eyes...and Two.

A redditor who described the Craster's Keep scenario from last season stated that there would be a scene of White Walkers walking off a cliff and getting resurrected by the Night's King. Also, we get 4 episodes of the Boltons: 3, 6, 9, 10. All per Westeros forums.

So i'm pretty hooked about the theory of R + L = D and B + A = J.
