the aegon thing is a bit weird. i used to think he was a fake, but with varys, who i thought was a bf supporter, hinting at joining daenerys, i'm not so sure anymore. he might the real aegon and the show runners decided against using him since, he has no dragons.

It's gonna be the season of Dany!

Looks like the season of Jon to me.

Some of the posters on Westeros are citing Tyrion's conversation with Ilyrio early in ADWD as proof that Aegon may still be in: during the conversation, Ilyrio mentions a dragon with three heads and directly states that he's sending some of his people to retrieve Danaerys...I personally think Aegon has been cut.

They skipped the Mummer's Dragon stuff, so here is no need for the fake. They simply streamlined it.

In minute 1:04 or so of the trailer, isn't that one of the girls who helped torture Theon?

Also, Dany has been a main focus since the very beginning of the story, he kinda appears out of nowhere into a game that already had all its players set.

Think? Not really.

Hope? Yes.

How far in advance have the release of new books been announced in the past?

Great trailer. Looks more exciting then the meandering books. Glad that they seem to be dropping Aegon and the Greyjoys.

I expect WOW no earlier than 2018. His refusal to write while away from home and insistence to write under certain circumstances greatly reduces his output. That's his method and his right, but it's not gonna get the books out fast. I figure we are looking at 7 years between ADWD and WOW and 7-10 years at least for A Dream of Spring. The final book is gonna probably be the one that really hangs him up cause he will want it to be absolutely perfect and I fear that he will take forever on that one.

Looks like Brienne and Pod are back in the Riverlands.

Lets be honest, he has no idea where the story is going and doesn't know how to finish it. He doesn't write, because he doesn't know what to write. He might know where everyone is suppose to end up, but no idea how they are suppose to get there at this point. The first 3 books basically came to him at the same time, as the entire idea of the original trilogy basically saw the first 3 books events happen in the first book.

I also wouldn't hold my breath on there only being two books left.

Did anyone really think it was coming out this year?
They were implying it would.

Heaven help us. :o

People are saying you can see Reek in a burning scene at 0:58.

@DRZ: It doesn't look like it. Though Euron is the only Greyjoy uncle to show up on HBO's Greyjoy family tree. I think Aegon is out as well, unless you're in the niche that believes Trystane Martell will be an alias for Aegon. It is slightly possible that when Varys says "Who said anything about him," he is referring to Tommen...they could have cut the trailer to make the viewers think it is Dany. I don't think this is the case, though. They need to start getting ready for the next Dance and the Long Night.

Effectively the next Dance is cut, since it's just Dany.
