looks like we need a disclaimer saying D&D only want 7 seasons :o

Last June Weiss and Benioff said 7 seasons in an interview.

Doesn't mean much, they've always held 7 or 8. If HBO makes them an offer to go to 8 I don't think they'll knock it back outright, given that it was their plan for the first 3-4 years of production.

Well I don't think they'd outright refuse an eighth season if they deemed it necessary to wrap up things. I was just stating that the most recent statement from them regarding how long the show will continue for was 7 seasons and that season five would be when they begin down the slope to the end. Up until that point we all thought 8 seasons was the plan, because they always said they thought of the show as being a 80 hour story. Something made them say seven seasons instead of their usual "80 hours" statement.

And that "something" was very likely the fact that last year they signed a deal with Fox to write, direct, and produce their first post-GOT feature film "Dirty White Boys".

Then only a few months after this deal is made they say in an interview that they are doing seven seasons of GOT. I don't think that's a coincidence.

Am I the only one who clicked on that video thinking it would be a parody of "Let It Go"?

those caterpillars have strings and a puppet master somewhere. I picture it being Dinklage.

That is the exact point. They don't want to do this forever.

Oscar for Best Supporting Actor: Peter Dinklage - Krillin

"Pop goes the half-man"

I feel that the series jumped the shark when they introduced Roose's fine fat wife.

played by Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson

And of course Natalie Dormer as a kinkier version of Bulma
