What are the Chekhov guns in Old Town? I vaguely remember the goings on at Old Town and the Citadel being oddly suspicious, but I can't recall much from when I read AFFC & ADWD.

They cited the general "magical" nature of Old Town as being all the strange dockside temples, and then whatever Jaqen's looking for in the Citadel.

It's implied that they may have a lot of ancient books and artefacts in the Citadel, stuff relating to Dragons, the Valyrian Empire, and the Empire that predates them. And some assume that the Horn of Winter is there.

At least Aeron has Falia and her baby to keep him company. I think they're lashed there alongside him.

She'll find it hard to keep up conversation without a tongue.

Bahgawd Dany's went full on Dragon Queen. I can't wait to see her fly into Westeros. Hope she lands right on the roof of the Red Keep.

Next week's episode looks like an episode from season 3. The war is winding back up. I hope Edmure doesn't cave for Edmure.

This was actually my favorite episode of the season. It had suspense, humor, intrigue, Walder, Drogon, an awesome Dany moment, some good Jaime moments, some good Sam and Gilly scenes in a new location with the fantastic James Faulkner. And it felt really well balanced and paced. All in all this was a damn good episode imo.

Pryce is killing it as the High Sparrow. The drogon scenes were fun. Best moments were Jaime and the High Sparro, and Arya retrieving Needle.

I wonder if this footage is from the original pilot episode that D&D made?

And can someone find some 1080p hi res screencaps from this scene? I want to get a better look at the mad king.

not sure if thats old footage Jaime has the same haircut he has now.

I believe the actor who plays Aerys was different too. Older looking. Small hands.

It was good to see Jaime active again. He's still got some fire left in him.

Major Finale spoilers

I wonder how King's Landing will react when
they find out Cersei and Frankenmountain killed the High Sparrow, the other Sparrows, and the queen, and that the King killed himself? The people seemed happy that the crown is uniting with the Faith.

Y'all think we are going to see a full uprising against Cersei?

I know some of you are Dany fans... but that scene was terrible.

last episode ... Euron: Build me a thousand ships!

this episode ... Daario: We will need a thousand ships! no one has that many...

Dany: not yet!

BLEH x200.

I expect Cersei would have a massive break from reality, maybe unleash Gregor on whoever's left to challenge her and then go about finishing what Aerys started by trying to burn down Kings Landing. There might be mass riots in the streets, but probably nothing that means anything to her position.

Why is it terrible? We've know since season 1 that Dany would need a huge number of ships. So Daario isn't allowed to correctly estimate a reasonable number of ships they will need just because a character on another continent wants his people to build a lot of ships to go get Dany?

this is why i had to say 'i know some of you are dany fans' because if it wasn't dany, this wouldn't be a debate lol

Convinced myself once Bran's vision began that there would be a hint of LSH. Bah, I'll never learn.

Cool to see The Mad King albeit without the Howard Hughes-esque vibe, but I understand the reasoning of wanting to avoid a comical look when there's nothing comical about his actions.

It's not the original pilot.

that sounds crazy.... So she's crowning herself the queen with no heir?
