RIP Nagga. Nagga is the real victim here.

Welcome to the club, Iceman. Have a swig from the communal absinthe.

I think it's weird, because there are certain things that the show has done, like for instance we got Pyat Pree in season 2 who more or less looked as creepy as he did in the books with his emaciated appearance and blue lips. It's strange that they didn't continue on with that, especially since in some cases the aesthetic does pertain to the plot. Euron's blue lips and eyepatch wouldn't have been too much of a stretch IMO, plus Pilou Asbaek said he'd like to wear an eyepatch at some point.

You guys have just ruined it for me. I now hate this show's Euron..what an average looking boring bastard!

Yeah? "FINISH HIM"... now you die. Imagine the swagger in those pictures... with this..

You could count the children as well. I love the changes we got for season six, but its another case of D&D going halfway.

yea and the blue lips from drinking that... FOUL STUFF... is significant

Can you expand on that please?

In season four, Leaf was very basic and not at all like her book counterpart. In this season, they have the weird skintone and look more alien. In contrast, they've stripped Euron of his mysticism...its worth noting that in the books, he's got one of the Qarth warlocks in his possession. The others were killed and fed to the one warlock - I think its Pyat Pree that he kept alive as a prisoner.

I was watching a review of last episode and they called the childrens 'fireball rock things' DEKU NUTS :lmao:

GRRM did say that Pyat Pree was going to be in TWOW :shr:

I call 'em cussers.

Next season the Night('si)* King should fieldrig an RPG and shoot the dragons out of the sky with a well-placed "****ing dragons!"

*In math the i indicates an imaginary number. Here I'm indicating an imaginary apostrophe s.

Digific is going to hurt you.

Oh I misread. Thought you were saying the season 6 versions were halfway. Yes I find it strange they aren't enthusiastic about getting characters with eccentric looks to play up. I thought they'd be all over those opportunities and not sure what made them choose not to.

Have you ever seen what the Iron Throne and Throne Room looks like in the book?

A real world equivalent would be the interior of Saint Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.

Martin actually endorsed this art on his blog and said it was how he imagined it and this art ended up in the History of a Song of Ice and Fire book and in a calender for the books.

Obviously the show couldnt have done something so crazy, but I wish they had went a little bit crazy with the thing. The throne in the show is so underwhelming after knowing this is how Martin envisions the throne and throne room.

I get what they went for visually as I'd absolutely buy Euron as Theon's Uncle, that doesn't excuse the "wheyyy cock jokes" simplification of the character though obviously.

Early days yet and we could see some mystical **** from him eventually, but if it's true that we

don't see him again this season

Then that's disappointing, and indeed a brutal treatment of the character.

No, I don't have the illustrated version so I've not seen any of this stuff. Although it almost seems better off not knowing as its hard to not want all the good things when you do. Can see why everyone is going on about The Iron Throne when it's supposed to be so impressive. And if it's difficult for fans I can only imagine what it's like for GRRM seeing something bland where he had imagined and described something very exotic. Although on the flipside, I guess he will see many awesome things he didn't write/think of that the showrunners introduced.

I can definitely buy Pilou Asbaek as Theon's uncle, and the actor himself has done some great work in his native Denmark, but I think they could have kept that familiarity whilst sticking true to his other visual aspects.

The eyepatch at the very least, because he's a pirate and because this show has had characters wear eyepatches in the past (Beric in season 3). His costume too, could have been changed around so that he's not wearing the same standard armour the rest of his people wear. Small stuff like that could have done wonders for the role, making him seem unique and get the idea across that he's not typical of his culture, even if they never expressly describe his backstory and achievements on screen.

I wish they had brought in his crew, with all their eccentricities.

Yet another reason that a Brotherhood version of this show should get made.

Money on the table folks.

I don't think I'd buy any mystical **** coming from this oaf.
