She can, but not from Stannis. The blood magic required takes years off his life, and if she did it again it'd kill him.

I am probably missing something obvious but why doesn't Melisandre keep reproducing with other men until all the key players are dead. They are burning people alive so they might as well give this a try.

Good episode, it was a great siege. It's not often that an ep focuses on one story line.
Question for the book readers : I was a bit disappointed to only see two giants, are they more ?

I believe it has something to do with Stannis Baratheon being a king, he also has Targaryen blood.

So predictions for the final episode??

Spoiler tagging everything just in case!...(obviously taking events from the books here too)

Arya & the Hound (going from the Eyrie) run into Pod and Brienne (going to the Eyrie). The Hound and Brienne fight, Brienne beats him (due to the infection slowing him down etc) but Arya convinces Brienne to let the Hound live. Arya will probably argue with the Hound, with him calling her still a frightened little girl for not being able to kill him, but she'll tell him it's the opposite, and he's going to die in fear and agony with no quick death. Pod, Brienne, and Arya depart. They will then be ambushed by the Brotherhood without Banners. Arya will escape, with Brienne telling her to run. Brienne and Pod will be captured. The episode will end with Brienne and Pod on their knees, and Lady Stoneheart coming forward to the shock of Brienne.

Danaerys will struggle with her decision to banish Ser Jorah. One of her dragons will kill someone, and she will decide to lock them away. One of them will flee and fly off while the other 2 are captured. (What a convenient way to not see them much in the next season and save CGI effects money!)

Jon won't reach Mance. He'll fall in the north somewhere and get left behind as the wildlings fully attack the wall. Stannis will arrive with an army and lead them to victory against the wildlings.

Jamie will free Tyrion after making a deal with Varys to get him out of Kings Landing. Tyrion will go and confront Shae, before finding her with Tywin. He kills them both, and then goes off to meet with Varys and leaves Kings Landing.

Bran, Hodor, Jojen and Meera will reach their destination, and may meet Coldhands or be told where to go to meet him.

Anyone else got any other predictions?

Yep, so much filler. People were saying by next season we'd be seeing Brans WoW stuff. At this stage it seems it'll be the rest of his ADWD chapters, with some added stuff to keep us reminded that he exists. Same with Theon.

I think they hurt themselves by trying to keep certain characters in certain episodes, simply for appearance sake. Like, why do we need to see Grey Worm get a love story subplot when they could use that screen time to progress Arya's story along.

I don't see the problem tbh, I've seen many people voice concern about next season as they feel that the book it will be based on is, according to them, the weakest in the series.

So, if they leave some things out of next week's finale, so they can be touched upon and fleshed out in a meaningful way next season, then I'm all for it.

The important thing is that the show has a balanced season every season, that is more important than adhering to imagined time constraints. I think its clear at this stage that the show is its own beast in a lot of ways. They'll cover whatever they feel necessary in order to provide a quality episode next week, and us fans shouldn't be moaning if they deliver on that just because "they didn't do this and that."

The music score was also great (can't wait to get S4's soundtrack, which I believe comes out on my birthday!). I loved that (if I heard correctly) there was a slight hint of the "You know nothing" motif as Jon walks out the North/outer gate ("you know nothing" is among my favorite on the s3 soundtrack).
I agree."She is Mine, I am Hers" and "You Know Nothing" are the "love" themes from seasons 2 and 3.
Referring to Robb/Talisa, and Jon/Ygritte.
There was a bit of She is Mine I am Yours when Maester Aemon was remembering his young life with the ladies. Nice touch from the sound editor.

And I keep saying it, Ramin Djawadi is the next Hans Zimmer/John Williams/ etc etc. The guy is an excellent composer. And it's been good to watch how he is growing from season to season.

Well for starters, next season is based on books 4 AND 5. With some condensing it can be a good, balanced season. There is nothing that needs to be added or padded out in that regard, they're meandering thoughtful books that feature mostly internal drama and a loss of forward momentum. It's not about keeping to a "timeline", it's a simple fact that there is a lot to get through next season, coupled with what are sure to be two more A Storm of Swords length books to adapt afterwards. We really can't waste time on the added stories that don't move the narrative along at all.

Game Of Thrones Wrecking Ball :woot:

One time that I actually don't mind that song :funny: (would've loved it more if they had cut off the song at the end and then ended it with Edd's "Hoist her up!"

It is almost like D&D are following in Martin's footsteps. I got the impression from AFFC and ADWD that George wants to set up another ASOS where he knocks down everything at once. Similarly, it seems like D&D want E9/E10 to serve as the episodes where everything comes to a head, when a more staggered series of plot wrap-ups would probably work better.

I can't even handle this :hehe:

So another Game Of Thrones cast member has a side job as a musician. Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) releases music on Columbia Records under the name Raleigh Ritchie.

It requires Kings blood. Stannis has a true claim to the throne and Gendry had Baratheon blood as well that's why Davos was thrown in cell when he sent him off. I think DRZ is right though, much as it pains me to agree with him, Targ blood might be a requirement as their lineage has the most direct line to the throne. I don't for example think Joffreys blood would have worked.

Because she's a lady

If we don't see
Lady Stoneheart
this season I might travel to D&D's respective homes and start separate sieges. I can't stand what they have done to Stannis in the past two seasons and if they miss out on the chance to end a season with
LS
I don't know what the hell they are thinking or being advised to do.

Nope, you won't.

[BLACKOUT]LS[/BLACKOUT] would be a great way to end the season, but also a great way to begin the next season. I could see either happening.

With all the stuff they have to cover, can they even get to that next episode?

Surely they can just randomly cut to a figure at the end & fans can easily see who it is etc
