Game of Thrones - Book Readers' Thread

I have limited my time on Tumblr due to all of the whining and misandry. If it wasn't for Kane's awesome blog, I would have left a while ago.

ha thanks. For the most part i've managed to avoid any blogs that go into b****ing territory.

The Wall storyline needed another full episode of attention. I would've trimmed nearly the entire last episode in favor of giving this more screen time. Besides the viper/mountain fight last week the entire episode was a waste. And again last night, the Sam and Gilly scenes bring everything to a screeching halt. Who cares about those two? Cut their scenes and give me a scene of Stannis knitting...it would be better. Stannis has got shafted this season. It's shame, this show needs 12 episode seasons and trim the fat....namely Sam's storyline.

The more i think about this episode, the more i think it had cool shots of Mammoths, Giants, brutality, but it lacked depth. It's just my major, major MAJOR disappointment with how they ended this episode and my fears of next week.

What else is new? Tumblr literally complains about everything. And I say this as someone who is active on Tumblr. :funny:

Sam and Gilly could go and the Grey Worm /Translator thing I couldn't careless about

and also wish HBO would cut down on the ads but that will never happen

Oh lord....[BLACKOUT]does this mean Brienne will bite off The Hound's ear? And what does that mean for a Lady Stoneheart appearance? If she doesn't appear in the finale, I might have an aneurysm. [/BLACKOUT]

Lady Stoneheart is coming. A few cast members have already teased her.

That GIF set is great, haha.

Truth be told, I never liked Sansa.

I tend to wonder...is Gendry the Huell of Game of Thrones?

He'll be back. I've grown accustomed to characters being absent for a season or two only to show up again later. You could say the same for Balon Greyjoy, or Rickon and Osha.

Yeah true, although just thinking about him still in that boat by himself makes me laugh.

That's the end of the show. Every main character is dead and Gendry finally reaches shore and asks "What did I miss?"

I have so much hope for a glorious Rickon return.

There were some rumours flying around on the ASOIAF forums that Osha/Rickon will be making an appearance next week...

Now there's a nice match up. Who do you root for? Even book readers are going to be thrown a bit by this.

Book spoilers:
I guess Brienne was going to fight a Hound one way or the other. And this is probably the biggest proof of her plotline being sped up, since we've got Arya and the Hound from book three colliding with Brienne and Podrick from book four, which I'm okay with. Brienne will live, the Hound may live, and Arya has to go by herself to Braavos. Poor Pod.

And talk about irony. Two of our "ugliest" badasses, paired up with opposite "squires" who started out on opposite sides of the War of the Five Kings are about to come to blows over a misunderstanding they might otherwise avoid.

except that this episode Sam was pretty integral to the main plot. Without him, the Crows likely don't hold Castle Black, which was in sharp contrast to Janos Slynt, who basically crapped himself and went and hid with his head between his legs. There was a lot of symbolism to the two of them and that locked storage room.

that kid is my new favorite pick to be king of westeros
