It's a cool cover, though I would have preferred a more traditional sigil one. Perhaps Euron's three eyed Kraken or something...

I have the seasons already. No need for a box set, no matter how nice the cover. :(

So "Homeless" Harry Strickland has been cast for Season 8, appearing in 2 episodes played by Marc Rissmann.

They're going to be involved in a battle sequence, as the role of Strickland required a level of horseback riding. Probably an introductory appearance in the first episode, and then a big battle towards the end of the season possibly.

I like the cover. Hope they do a great cover for a final box set for all seasons in 4K when the show is done. I'll rebuy for that.

So much for the GC being a major factor.

It's a 6 episode season. Those 6 episodes have to wrap up the war with the Undead, wrap up Cersei, wrap up the fight for the Iron Throne, wrap up the Dany and Jon stuff, wrap up Jon's heritage, wrap up all the other main character's stories etc. The GC can only have so much screen time. Being featured in 2 episodes out of those six is a reasonable amount. That's enough time to have a major impact. Tho personally I'm expecting them to be little more than canon fodder and an opposing army for Dany and Jon to fight or possibly an ally against the dead. Not much else.

Plus they're discussed the episodes being almost feature length for the season, so they might get decent screentime.

My guess is the Golden Company shows up, fights Daenerys and Jon's army for a bit, then turns tail and flees back to Essos once they see the army of the dead.

I think they show up, help Cersei/Euron conquer the south, and end up fighting the survivors of the Jon/Dany coalition in the last episode or so. Like Euron with his fleet, they can get away with showing the Golden Company without actually having to physically show its leader.

is it true that the cast are earning 1 million an episode? it's hard to imagine this is true with the budget pretty much still in the 12-15 million range? i recall season 1/2 it was like 10 million an episode.

Considering that there are only six episodes in the final season, it wouldn't surprise me if Dinklage, Headey, Coster-Waldau, Harington and Clarke were raking in a million per episode. Only those five, though. They each made $500k per episode this past season.

How does it work? Do they only sign up to one season at a time? Long term deals would be cheaper for HBO but more risk I guess. Also any idea what they might have got paid in season 1? I guess Sean Bean was a big earner back then.

The could afford to pay SB the big bucks because he was only going to be around for nine episodes

I remember reading that he got a million an episode for season 1 but I'm not sure if that's true or not. He was a star but I don't know if he was that huge a star back in 2011. I'd have guessed 200-300 K an episode. Maybe 500 K max

this is my issue. Cause I read for this season they were already earning 1 million dollars. Different sources cite different amounts.

Amazing agents they have. Considering I imagine in season 1, none of them was earning more than 100 K. Clarke and Harington were such unknowns, they could have been earning as low as 30-50 K.

I wonder if the final episode will be titled "A Dream of Spring"?

Also the show wasn't guaranteed to be a success at that point, and certainly not the raging success it has become.

I believe the main cast signed on for 4/5 seasons originally, and they all had their contracts updated with a better salary and the like for everything beyond the 5th season.

The series finale title has been revealed...

"A Reeky Redemption" ... synopsis: Reek kills the night king with a frozen yellow pee pee.

Mister Reekman, you could have saved yara, I gave you all the clues.

Oh right, makes sense.
