Game of Thrones General (Non-Book Related) Discussion Thread - Part 1

Damn that S7 bluray cover is kinda awful. I'll just wait for a complete series release at this point.

Damn sharp that fellow --"Rodrick Su". He posted it on 18th September 1997 in the Usenet group rec.arts.sf.written (long before Google acquired the rec newsgroup & its archive):

4. Jon Snow's parent. It is wholely consistent that Jon Snow is the offspring of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Ned probably keep this a secret because Rober Baratheon is obsess with killing off all Targaryen, especially any offspring of Rhaegar.

5. If Jon Snow is a Targaryen, then by tradition, he is the most likely mate to Daenery, being that she is his aunt...

I doubt HBO actually shoots fake endings. Putting them in the scripts, I can see since that's what leaked early on, but I doubt they spend money filming even though they say they will.

Sapochnik was missed during season 7. That being said, however, I do think all of the directors did a fantastic job, particularly Matt Shakman who knocked it out of the park on his first try and Alan Taylor who proved he's still got it.

Which episode did Shakman do?

I wonder if Daario will play a role in the Golden Company stuff? He finds out the Golden Company is going to Westeros to fight Dany so Daario somehow throws a wrench in Cersei's plan. Similar to what Daario did when the Second Sons commanders wanted to kill Dany.

Just imagine a moment like the one in Braveheart when the Irish unexpectedly join with the Scottish. The Golden Company is on the field facing Dany and Jon's army and they charge and then stop and join Jon and Dany's forces and slaughter the Lannister army.

Sure it'd be convenient, but I would be ok with it because Cersei's reaction would be oooo so good.:D

On the other hand if they don't join with Dany, I'm thinking they will sack King's Landing for one reason or another. I really wouldn't put it past Euron to cut a deal behind Cersei's back and use the Golden Company to sack KL and take the throne from Cersei and make Cersei his imprisoned "broodmare".

Well Tycho Nestoris kept mentioning to Cersei that Euron is only loyal "for now" and I think that's ultimately what Euron's scenes with Jaime were fundamentally about. He's the handsome stranger walking into Cersei's life encouraging her worse behaviour while Jaime is standing there constantly having to remind her that this guy is no good.

Without Jaime, Euron's really all she has left, so I'd imagine that it's all a big set up for when she suffers that last betrayal that finally drives her to go from power-mad to ultimately self destructive.

Its be some delicious justice if he threw Cersei in one of the black cells and just left her there. Plus, it'd be visually cool to see the throne room draped in black and Euron's sigil hanging behind the throne and him sitting on the throne. People in the streets dying of starvation, resorting to cannibalism, and freezing to death. Basically turn KL into a nightmare version of what it used to be.
