Game of Thrones General (Non-Book Related) Discussion Thread - Part 1

No matter how this episode ends, it is worth it for the Bronn and Lannister scene.

So I guess Bronn just waltzed into Winterfell without anyone questioning it. Made for a hell of an entertaining scene, though.

Please, everyone was either drunk or ****ing, likely both. Super easy to sneak in.

EDIT: Well, I guess at least Ghost isn't getting killed.

I remain flabbergasted at Emilia and Kit's total lack of chemistry. Like, it's worse than I could've ever even imagined.
They aren't the best actors and they are friends. Plus considering how Kit talks, I get the feeling Rose might be on his mind during this stuff. :hehe:

Tell me about it. Bran is officially a totally useless character. They should have killed him off in last episode now.
And, I really am sick of the Cersei storyline. I liked the Night King storyline more. I liked the Brotherhood without banners storyline. I liked Jon's, Arya's and Tyrions storylines. I don't care for Cersei or Dany all that much.

Cersi is so ugly on the inside, she's ugly on the outside. I can't imagine anyone being in love with her. :(

Jon needs to die for
giving away Ghost like that. :argh: Poor baby got his ear chewed off and he didn’t even give him a petting as a good bye.

This is my favorite tweet so far:

Wait a damn second, Jaime had sex with Brienne...and then went back to Cersei?

Hilarious thing, Jon could have stayed out of this mess completely if it wasn't for them bloody white walkers and his destiny. Now he's stuck right in the middle of it.

I think he is going back to help Dany? I mean, this is also after Bronn came by to kill them.

Eh, only part I liked was Arya decides to join Sandor. But of course, the showrunners destroyed another ending with Arya and Gendry. Eff them to hell, Hopefully after this is all done, GRRM will let us know what really happens.

I said in another thread, I feel they totally took his redemption arc and flung it out the window. Of course, he could have been lying to Brienne because he does love her and wants her to stay in Winterfell, and he's really going to kill Cersei once and for all. But, I have absolutely no faith in these showrunners at all anymore.

Maybe I'm misrembering, but didn't Jaimie and Brienne get it on in the bath bath when they were on their wacky adventure together?

I still don't get that myself. :( I'd been waiting for him and Brienne to hook up for a while now.

Man, this episode was not kind to Dany. On top of losing Jorah last episode,
down go Rhaegal and Missandei this week. :csad:

I'm thinking episode 5 might be more intense than The Long Night.

That's what I believe. I think this is what Jaime's redemption arc has been leading to.

Nope. They just had a seriously intimate conversation where it was revealed he wasn't the monster she thought he was.

I actually thought that was very earned.
1.) Gendry, my dude, chill. Proposal after one night of hooking up....not a great look.
2.) Ayra would never be a lady.
That scene I thought was very fitting. And in keeping with her character. The biggest issue I had with the ep was, once again, ships sneaking up on people in freakin' ocean. Also, DANNY IS ON DRAGONS. HOW DOES SHE NOT SEE THEM?

Other than that, I thought it had some good drama. Good set up of the tension between Danny and Jon. I'm personally hoping that Jamie was being intentionally vague to Brienne because he does plan to kill Cersei, but if he does go back to her...I mean, it sucks, but it's also true to life.

Look at it this way, how many people do you know who have had a bad relationship in their life, and how many times have you seen them go back to that person? Hell, how many do you know that never leave? Even something simpler like a bad habit, how many people do you see see "quit" something like smoking for years only to go back to it later?

That's the nature of addiction. And it's no different for abusive or dysfunctional relationships. It's also something I could see GRRM doing. Just because people make strides doesn't mean they don't backslide. In fact, I'd be willing to wager that happens more often than not.

To be fair she got dumb writers.
True.

Although going off the key episodes were told to watch before this season, they've been gunning to show her weaknesses and why she probably shouldn't be queen. Or at least why she shouldn't be queen without the right people around her. And they've been gradually getting rid of her inner circle/support system.
