Hey, when it comes to Epic and a game that is largely based around a bromance between to bad ass soldiers, Yeah, I want my campaign co op.

Are there any other games that are as good coop as Gears? With individual character 4-player coop in Gears 3 I think it's going to be one of the best multiplayer campaign modes ever!

Really? Because for a while I really wanted to punch Cliffy B in the face.

From the perspective of a hardcore Gears 1 multiplayer gamer, Gears 2 was very obviously catered towards the noobs, and it absolutely ruined the gameplay.

What happened to my shotgun?

I never had much use for the shotgun in either game.....id always go with a pistol or torque bow as a secondary weapon if I needed it

That was one of the biggest gripes that I had with the game.

Yeah, man watching Justified has just filled the giant whole in my centre that appeared the moment they cancelled Deadwood. It's great seeing other Deadwood actors pop up too.

Ya know, i never watched Deadwood, but the whole time iv been watching Justified iv kept telling my self this seems like a modern day western. I mean everything that you love about em, are present in the show.

I need to check out Deadwood.

He was prob one of those players who would do that stupid roll and shoot combo, so i believe they toned the shotgun down to eliminate that stupid technique.

I thought that was great. That reminds me of people complaining that they 'nerfed' melee in Halo Reach. It sucks when more skill is required in something, hey? :P

if anyone noticed, the sniper rifle is ridiculously overpowered in the first game...most enemies go down in one shot

that was changed in Gears 2 as well

Which worked better too. You get the headshot and you're fine, otherwise it's not a kill. I think that worked better too, i mean, it's not like headshots are hard.

Shotgun is where nearly all the kills come from in multiplayer! Probably 'cause it's a starting weapon & a close range one shot kill for execution with a proper clip & refire rate/reload time. Gears 3 should see kills spread out a bit more close range with retro lancer & double barrelled shotgun now avaialble.

I always hear people complain about how they watered down the shotgun, but for me personally I've never had a problem with it. Before it took one shot up close and you could take a guys head off, in Gears 2 it required skill to have to hit the guy a few times which took accuracy and quick reflexes, all while trying to dodge his gunfire.

Nah man, I mostly wallbounce and strafe. Stuff like that. Roll and shoot is too predictable, so I usually don't use that technique.

Every time i saw someone coming at me like that id just panic and get hosed. Every. Time.

I honestly never played much Gears 2 multiplayer other than when it first came out but I love the series. Is it worth getting into for a fan? Does it have an XP system or anything like that?

Yea, other than Horde mode, i didnt play a lot of Gears 2 online either, but that was because i sucked something fierce. Yea theres a ranking system. Goes up to 50 i think.

Yes there are. There's no DLC, but by completing certain tasks in the game you can unlock other playable characters(multiplayer only).

I suck at the shotgun...I always end up being a second too late and I am dead...or I end up shooting the floor. I tell you..if you got points for shooting the floor I would dominate.

While I haven't heard anything about that, logic tells me that yes you would be able to. But you might be getting Gears of War 3 confused with another game as I think deals like this only come out after the third game has been out for a few months.
