How does it compare to Gears 2 Rocker? What is noticably different?

It's been so long since I've played Gears 2, but did everyone use the shotgun tons? Because when I was playing last night that was pretty much the go to weapon for everyone. I like the small added feature of the things that change the maps up every now and then like the sandstorm in trenches.

And the retro lancer is pretty great.

IGN said Bulletstorm was 5 hours but they had to have rushed through it. I played it on the normal difficulty and tried to kill people creatively and it took me around 8 hours to beat maybe a little more.

Anywho.. Apparently there's a way to get into the beta...Right now. I don't have a Flash Drive to spare at the moment but if anyone else is interested you may want to try this:


Firstly this way is pretty legit no hacked profiles or nothing. You won't get banned or any crazy stuff like that.

What you need:
1. A USB flash Drive (small ones work better anywhere between 1-4 GB.)
2. http://digiex.net/downloads/downloa...sb-storage-explorer-xplorer-xtaf-v44-new.html USBXTAF This is a small program used to transfer game saves and such to an xbox 360 memory stick. Again nothing illegal or anything with this program.
3. The GoW Beta download. (Pass is "cccodyyyy") http://www.megaupload.com/?d=14IHTJKA
4. The ability to read.

Tutorial
1. Plug your flash drive into your 360 and format it so it can be used for 360 memory.
2. go into your memory and copy something from your xbox hdd to the usb drive. something small will be faster like an arcade game (full house poker).
3. Once copied take the usb stick out and plug it into your PC.
4. Run USBxtaf and open the device.
5. You should see a content folder with 16 0's on it. Click into that folder. Next you will want to inject your GoW 3 beta into there.
6. Before you can do that though you must create a folder named "4D5389B9". Now go into your Gears of War 3 beta folder and move the 08000 folder into the 4D5 folder.
7. Once that is done all you need to do is inject the 4D5389B9 folder into the content folder using XTAF.
8. Then just plug your usb stick into the xbox and go to game library/demos and trials and it should be in there. There is a 500mb update before you play though. Once that is done you can move the GoW3 beta to your normal hdd and continue playing.

Took me 10 hours on Bulletstorm on hard, and multiplayer is great.

If you have Bulletstorm the beta went live at around 5 in the morning central time or so well at least thats when I first started playing it. Only team deathmatch is available and the two levels are the grocery store and the thrashball field. So far I really like how it feels, I hardly played the first 2 games online and I was hoping to be able to start playing this one when it comes out in Sept. and I'm loving it so far. Finally the rifles actually do damage and they down an opponent pretty quickly if you're using it right. The sawed off shotgun is pretty bad ass but you need to be within melee range to use it or else it won't kill. I'd almost classify the retro lancer as an smg type weapon as it is incredibly powerful up close but long range it has such kick that its not worth firing also the bayonet charge is awesome. The best addition is the spotting and the mantle kick. Me and a friend were playing and he is a great sniper so I was running around the field spotting targets for him to destroy and its teamwork like that which will win you matches. the mantle kick is something I haven't done too much of but its pretty fantastic when you're able to bust one out on an opponent. Their version of team deathmatch is very effective, I was in a match where my friend was the only one left and there were 3 opponents left and he clutched it killing all 3. The lobby just went nuts. I don't think it needs to be said but wow this game is gorgeous, its crazy how colorful it is.

I know on Friday & this past weekend there were only three levels. Not sure about today with Bulletstorm now in the Beta

Only two levels, but they're a lot of fun. I need a break from Checkout already though lol. I'm already level 7 and christ this just makes me want the full game so badly. I wish there was horde mode or something in the beta as well. Damn its fun!

I believe the other maps will be unlocked at a later time, with one of them being voted on by fans. I believe via the Gears Facebook page.

Yeah all the other stuff will be unlocked at certain times throughout the coming weeks.

Glad I won the early code so I got to check it all out before they made it TDM only.
