How and why? I do think Snoke is Plagueis to.

Everything points to him not being Plagueis. Plagueis was murdered by Palpatine, Plagueis was a Muun (unless they've arbitrarily changed that in the new canon), Plagueis wasnt from the Unknown regions, Plagueis was a full Sith Lord.

The new canon is establishing in the comics, books, and movies that something nefarious was going on in the Unknown Regions. Leia senses the entity reaching out to her and her unborn child. Leia mentions in TFA that Snoke had been watching Kylo all his life. Palpatine could sense a dark and powerful entity or thing "calling" from the Unknown Regions. He believes the Sith or the Dark Side's source is out there. If it was Plagueis that was calling out to him he would have recognized that it was his old master. Thrawn mentions that the Chiss Empire know of dark and terrible things in the Unknown Regions that make the Empire seem quaint. The Imperial Remnant fled to the Unknown Regions. The First Order rose up from the Unknown Regions. It seems Lucasfilm and the writers are setting up the reveal that Snoke is the dark presence from the Unknown Regions.

Snoke/Plagueis is nonsense, because clearly Rey is Plagueis.

Unless Rey is Snoke, and Plagueis is a Kenobi. Max Von Sydow might also be Darth Bane, but I can't be 100%.

Well... The math checks out. It all makes sense to me.

Lego toy of the "skimmer" ships we saw in TLJ trailer! How cool is that?

This is the doing of the Sith (or a very bitter creator). :(

Click bait articles for years had rumors of Episodes VII-IX were going to get made for years as well with Lucas saying "No way." And almost every one back then said no way in hell would there be new films. And here we are. So don't say never.

The answer you all seek is right in front of our noses.

SNOKE is a WHILL gone bad..........from a certain point of view

I watched Harmy's de-specialized version of Star Wars the other day. It was refreshing. There's a certain charm to the raw clumsiness of a lot of it. And it is clumsy. I can understand wanting to clean up some of the effects, though a lot of them still hold up today. There's a difference between sprucing up what's there and adding additional, unnecessary things to it. The only addition that I missed was Luke's scene with Biggs. That felt needed given the emphasis on Biggs' death later on.

I think it would be cool to re-release ANH (I know, I know) as a new special edition to fit in with Rogue One. All they would do is clear up any consistencies (maybe add dialog about the Ersos and the battle on Scarif) and add some scenes with Vader that match how badass he was at the end of RO. Maybe redo the fight with Vader and Obi-Wan. With today's technology they could do it. They could add some Vader kicking butt at the beginning when capturing Leia. They could also do this for the rest of the OT. Vader Vader Vader etc. I don't support remaking the OT, but let's just add some more Vader. haha

They look like the bastard offspring of a depressed seal and a penguine.

I think it's pretty clear that George Lucas probably had a clause written about the theatrical cuts when he sold the company.

Disney knows they would sell. Lucasfilm knows it. They know the fans want this and they'd probably make a ton of money by re-issuing theatrical cuts on Blu-ray and all that, or at the very least HD, VOD, etc. Let's not forget, Lucasfilm did issue theatrical cuts on DVD back in 2006 of the original trilogy. They weren't the best quality versions of those versions on DVD, but they did relent at the time. My point is they know the demand is there.

I could be wrong, but I firmly believe they aren't releasing them for the foreseeable future because Lucas demanded as such. They won't even give a theatrical cut to the National Registry.

I dont doubt thats why they are doing this. But Fox and/or Disney could at least release the Unaltered version of ANH. Fox owns that movie entirely. I wish Fox would at least give Lucas the finger and do a 4K release of the unaltered ANH.

What really gripes me is the fact that the *only* reason Lucas won't do it is because he can't stand the thought that some fans don't like the changes. So it's a petty grudge thing. "Oh, you don't like the cnanges? Well, eff you then, I'll fix it so you'll NEVER be able to watch the version you like on an HD TV. You'll be watching MY version or nothing."

The 2006 DVD is so grainy it's practically unwatchable, and I think Lucas did that to punish the fans who didn't like the SE.
