That trailer all around is just visually stunning. One of the best looking trailers I have ever seen.

SNOKE: When I found you, I saw raw, untamed power…and beyond that, something truly special.

REY: Something inside me has always been there. And now it’s awake. And I need help.

LUKE: I’ve seen this raw strength only once before. It didn’t scare me enough then. It does now.

KYLO REN: Let the past die. Kill it…if you have to. It’s the only way to become what you were meant to be.

CHEWIE: Arwaarrrgh!

PORG: Aaeeeiiii! Aaaeeeiiaa!

POE: We are the spark that will light the fire that will bring the First Order down.

FINN: Come on!!

BB-8: Whoooaaaoow!

LUKE: This is not going to go the way you think.

SNOKE: Fulfill….Your…..Destiny!

REY: I need someone to show me my place in all this.

I wonder if Rey is screaming due to pain or if she is screaming because she is trying to resist him and is mad? The way he is reaching out makes me think he is invading her mind and has her frozen the way Kylo did in TFA. Kylo probably learned that from Snoke. So I'm thinking she tries to fight back the way she fought back against Kylo's invasion of her mind but Snoke just plows through her defenses and she starts screaming and pushing back harder. I'd love for Snoke to keep doing this and her anger and power to build and build like water behind a dam until it just explodes out and floors Snoke. That would be a great "**** yeah" moment.

I say this with love, but that opening Snoke line may have even been edited by Lucas

Luke has to bust out his saber in this, right? Would love for it to be blue when and if it pops. Maybe he lost the Jedi saber during Kylo's attack back in the day

I think he body locked her and she is trying to get out.

There is a wonderful Sci Fi/Fantasy epic ness to the production design. The content we got in the trailer was tops and it's under three minutes long. We will get so much more once we sit down in the theater.

I like that they've given Finn his own personal antagonist and his own personal journey. And I love how far he has come since the beginning of TFA. He went from a scared shaking storm trooper that was afraid of the First Order to a Resistance fighter that isn't afraid to stand up to Phasma. That's awesome.

I love the look of the destruction and chaos in the back of Finn and Phasma's confrontation.

Titan is right. It is the new IMAX poster.

Thanks. It's a nice piece. SW stuff like that? Post 'em in the AWESOME pics thread in Community after you put them here DS. I am guessing you come across cool AF SW pics all the time.

I just want the conflict to be about more than just "betrayal" of the Order on Phasma's side. I have always thought that it would be cool if this was really about a woman that had a near maternal interest in Finn. She was his mentor so to speak and she had great hopes for him to rise through the ranks. That's been my pet theory since TFA.

I haven't read the book Phasma yet, but from what I've gathered she comes from a warrior culture on Parnassos. In the First Order she is a part of the triumvirate with Kylo and Hux. She was in charge of the military and the stormtroopers.

Phasma and Hux's Stormtrooper program was believed to be infallible. The troopers were indoctrinated and trained and conditioned from a young age and Hux and Phasma thought they wouldn't or couldn't turn against the Order. Finn seems to be the only trooper that's ever turned against the Order. Imagine how they must feel. This one guy is running around the galaxy fighting the Order besmirching their perfect program and their reputation. He is an affront to the program and the Order. A thorn in the Order's paw. A walking living black mark (no pun intended) on the Order's reputation. This is more than just a betrayal. It's personal for Phasma.

As for her being his mentor, he was a janitor on Starkiller base and was transferred to infantry and afaik Jakku was his first combat deployment. If she was mentoring him I doubt he would have been on janitor duty.

True enough. Then again, to go GOT, Lord Commander Mormont essentially made Jon Snow his cabin boy doing scut work and menial tasks and yet the implication was he was being groomed for command.

For me, there was something about how once told about Finn's refusing to fire on civilians that Phasma seemed... protective? Look, this is the big bad New Order, right? Everyone knows they do extrajudicial execution. All of Finn's fellow troopers just carried that out on the planet bellow. So why didn't Phasma just go "Okay, (cocks blaster) let's find the insubordinate SOB and pop a cap in his ass"? Instead she does make a clipped and disciplined plea for mercy almost. She mentioned that he had no priors and had served well before this incident. Also, and please correct me if the novels or other tie ins contradict this Marv (I have yet to read anything), just because he was doing "janitorial" work on Starkiller doesn't mean as much as it might seem too. Soldiers do all kinds of work. Even when a group of special ops guys do extended counter intel missions... Some Green Beret/Seal/Force Recon dude has to dig a hole or do latrine duty in some form. He was transferred to combat duty too. That might well indicate a rising of status. Then there's the way she just plain gave up Starkiller base so easily. Could we chalk that up to subpar writing and move on? Sure. But what if we apply my theory? Could maybe explain her reaction better. She has an attachment to Finn and her mercy cost the Order it's new ultimate weapon.

You're view could easily be correct Marv. For myself though I would find a strangely twisted maternal bond a lot more interesting than simply a vendetta based on political betrayal. It opens up some more interesting possibilities story and character wise in my view.

I hope Phasma removes her helmet. In addition to having something to do in a movie. I liked that photoshoot with the trio of baddies.

A trailer that combines hints at both character, story and conflict, and also delivers some amazing visuals, and sets the tone of the film extremely well. It asks questions that I really want to see the answers to.

Other recent trailers should take note.

Wow. You brought that up here for no reason. None. The other side gets painted as some kind of fanatics and yet, for no other reason than to stir the pot you made the choice to post bait.

One has to wonder what that says about someone that stirs **** for no reason. Too bored? Enjoy conflict for it's sake? Get off on it? Cuz... **** stirring is the only reason to do what you just did, as many on "your" side do regularly and then cry foul. NO. We aren't all crazed "Snyder Bros". But I think it says alot that in the past couple days I've seen a **** metric ton more apropos of nothing posts like this coming from Hypesters that share your opinions. Cuz as far as I know both here and in various Community threads the film in question and those looking forward to it were singled out of the blue when no discussion was occurring about it.

You'll forgive me but... That's kind of stuff is why the genre fan community in general is thought of as so ****ing immature and petty these days.

PS, don't go complaining to a mod or the like and please don't try to get some BS sympathy from anyone because THIS was the reaction you were looking for. You wanted to be noticed. I mean... Why do it otherwise right? Just don't protest to much when the maiden is called on her ****.

You know if Luke's "brilliant plan" when faced with a young woman who has such raw power and is desperately in need of guidance, is to essentially go "get lost, you scare me," then he deserves whatever crap comes his way because that'd be the height of stupidity on his part.
