Ghost Rider 2 In The Works - Part 2

I was totally disappointed with GR's soundtrack. This is a franchise that DEFINITELY needs to be all about the heaviest of metal, and yet the best they could drum up was some old school classic rock --- and not even appropriate classic rock. ZZ Top's "Tush"? Um, no. Spiderbait? Um....what? Who? AC/DC "Highway to Hell?" Yes, please. Slayer? Yes, please. Avenged Sevenfold? Yes, please. Maiden? Sabbath? Ozzy? Metallica? Mastodon? Priest? Now you're on the right track.
yeah....no. but agreed on the rest. but please no screamo.

I actually disagree with most of metal choices. While a little hard stuff won't hurt, the GR should have dark gothic tunes to support the horror themes of the character. Symphonic stuff would be great too IMO.

Exactly, Ghost Rider's a horror character that exists in a dark world. He's not an all out rocker.

Dark Ambient would definitely suit a Ghost Rider movie. It pisses me off when some people suggest Metal or Rock music when it comes to a comic book movie if they aren't suggesting Orchestra music. :cmad:
**** crappy modern mainstream music!!!!!

Dark Ambient, gothic and orchestra FTW!

BTW, will we get the GR2 trailer before November? Someone should tell the studios that Halloween is really close and GR2 is kind of a horror film. Puss in Boots and In Time are opening this week and neither are Sony titles.

Agreed :ghost:

I was hoping it would be released sometime this week, but there's always next week.

I think it's crazy to make a comic book film and not do research on the characters you're going to use, but hopefully their idea ends up being awesome.

Ok, this new bit of news REALLY sucks. WTF were they thinking? Also, revealing this news right now will really hurt the potential sales. I know a lot of hardcore comic fans will probably start badmouthing it from now and create an even bigger negative buzz surrounding the movie. They haven't seen it and it will hopefully be great but releasing news like this doesn't help the hype.

It really doesn't, it makes the directors seem like they don't have alot of respect for the source material (which is probably true).

A Ghost Rider film will never be anything like Ang Lee's Hulk, the style just wouldn't fit Rider's character.

Anyone really surprised by this?

Given the trailer shot of Blackout standing in broad daylight, the directors might as well have said, "We really didn't care about researching anything," right there.

Great call. Everyone knows how much fans ****ing HATE IT when your comic book movie respects the source material. Looks like we dodged the bullet this time. Thanks Neveldine & Taylor!

And this is why Marvel Studios should be the only studio to even TOUCH Marvel characters. sigh

Guys, seriously? These directors deviate from the source material all of the time. Don't even act surprised, this thing about Blackout was mentioned by them a while back. Most of you are probably still going to see it anyway.

I really think if you're going to make any adaptation, you should at least try to respect the source material. I'm not a super hardcore GR fan so this doesn't really offend me but if they were talking about Deadpool... THERE WOULD BE BLOOD!!!!

Maybe this interview won't hurt the sales but still, it makes me really sad :(

They didn't really care about Ghost Rider. They just wanted to make an action movie, and shoehorn Ghost Rider into it.

Aye, that's how we end up with classic films like Catwoman and Jonah Hex. They should know better.

First I've heard of it. Not everyone gets these news tidbits beamed straight into their brains.

Maybe. Doesn't change the lack of respect they're showing for the character and mythos though.

The scene of Ghost Rider pissing fire is symbolic of their opinion of the characters comic lore.
