Ghost Rider 2 In The Works - Part 3

Have to disagree there, but I won't get into that here.

If Marvel could get the rights back, I'd only want to see interaction between him and the hopefully soon to be established Dr. Strange movie.

Marvel having the rights doesn't mean a good movie will get made, or indeed a movie at all. Personally I still think Marvel Film's best movie was their first; Iron Man. The rest have been average to above average.

They've all been a good bit above average, even Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk.

If Marvel would get the rights for Ghost Rider, i wouldn't mind seeing a movie where it's practically Mephisto vs. Avengers vs. Ghost Rider all mixed up nicely.

This has probably already been posted but I'll post it again just in case.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance star Ciaran Hinds has said that fans can expect a "mad" movie from directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

The former Rome star, who portrays the Devil in Nicolas Cage's Marvel sequel, told Digital Spy that he was surprised to be offered a role in the blockbuster.

"It's a genre I don't know," Hinds said. "That was something I didn't think I would ever be involved in. I do Shakespeare! I wear breeches and do Jane Austen! And then this is just mad, so different.

"I don't know how it'll turn out - probably just this mad kind of film that certain people of a certain age will get into."

Asked about his interpretation of Satan, the Northern Irish actor explained: "Playing the Devil in human form - I didn't know what level to play it at. They just said, 'Give us your stuff', but it's not fire and brimstone."

Hinds also teased a scene with Cage which sees the Devil confront Johnny Blaze.

"I did get to meet Nic Cage, which was a thrill. A very nice, very professional man. Very good, very sharp," he commented. "We only had one scene, where he gave me a punch in the jaw and sent me miles away!"

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance will open in cinemas on February 17, 2012.

Happy 48th Birthday to Nic Cage today!

Well that's based on personal opinion, but if you go by critical consensus on RT, they've all ended up in the 70s or lower, except Iron Man 1. I'm just saying that having Marvel Films produce the movie isn't a sort of magic bullet, and that having them do a Ghost Rider certainly wouldn't mean it'd be a good movie for sure.

I see GR 2 making at least $50 million domestically, with roughly $25-$30 million opening weekend.

It doesn't have much competition and it'll be in 3 D (which may or may not help it).

Come on, if a movie like Devil Inside can make $16 million opening day, I'm sure GR 2 can at least match it

Did it? All hope for humanity is lost.

I think the same demographic watching Underworld 4 will be watching GR 2. I believe this will be a good benchmark to go by.

Actually they're all in the mid-upper 70's except for Iron Man 1 (94%) and TIH (66%), just to let you know 50% "average" and anything above it is "above average".

It isn't the same a grades in school where 70% is a "D", in this case 70% would be more like a "B".

Yeah saying GR2 is going to make 10 million is just absurd, it's going to atleast do "Immortals" opening weekend numbers which is around 30-35 million.

Some mentioned Underworld 4 as a good idea of GR 2 demographic, that seems pretty spot on.

GR 2 will do good business. I just have a feeling

I'm think 40 domestic is right, but I can see it drawing 60 million worldwide. He might be hated in the states, but Cage's movies seem to draw a bit better around the rest of the world.

Seriously if the Devil inside can make $34 million opening weekend... GR 2 should be able to put up at least same or maybe $40 million openIng weekend.

People are obessed with found footage movies now, and they love stupid Exorcist crap lately too. That movie was always going to do good.

I agree

Devil Inside made that much this weekend? The ****?

The Devil Inside had snazzy advertising. I saw countless ads on TV and the internet , including SHH. That movie also had the teen vote because of its similarity to Paranormal Activity. It had an estimated 1 million dollar budget and has grossed already over 30 million and counting. That's damn inspiring.

I'll say yes I did see a lot of advertising for Devil Inside. But I mostly saw the ads this week. And a few last week.

I'm sure once Feb hits, we'll be seeing a lot more GR 2 ads along with Episode I 3D ads.
