I keep forgetting GR is with Sony. Spidey crossover. Make it happen.

I am not holding my breath for a crossover but I wonder why they can't do some kind of unique reference like have it playing on the background on a TV on the news "Man with head on fire riding a motorcycle caught on film" something like that.

I watched a blog on Facebook awhile back. Brian Taylor was their guest star.

He said the reports on the budget of GR 2 are blown out of proporation. He said they had about the same budget as "Gamer"...which was around $50 million.

I don't know. This trailer looks much better IMO compared to original's trailers. Plus, this one has fire pissing which is instant win!

Yep. At first, I thought the budget for "Gamer" was $15 million. But they said at least two times on the Blu-ray how they had to find a way make the action look epic and had a short schedule.

And that a budget of $50 million was very low for this type of film (Gamer). They even said their CGI budget was only $1 million. So they relied heavily on practical effects.

For GR 2, they're definitely spending in the right areas.

Why would they give a completely different villain in the sequel/reboot the same powers as the villain from the first film?

Seems pretty wierd to me, hopefully Blackout's powers atleast manifest themselves visually different fom Blackheart's.

Hopefully his powers become different during the movie or something. It is indeed a strange choice considering how lame they were in original and how badly Bently made then look. While I don't have anything against over the top performance from villains, Blackheart felt really forced and comical.

Yeah, now that I think about it there's plenty of room for the directors to Blackout's his powers more unique on film than they sound in the script.

I think Benley's acting was fine Ghost Rider, he just didn't quite fit the role of Blackheart (miscast).

They might have just created a villain and found the guy from Ghost Rider's hall of rogues that represented him the most and then called him that. He could very well be absolutely nothing like Blackout from the comics.

Wes Bentley's performance in Ghost Rider deserved a Razzie. He literally played the part like some stereotypical high school bully. But then again the villains were so poorly written it was doom from the start.

Agreed on the miscast part but his performance was also kinda over the top. The film felt overlay restrained and yet most actors were being either bad or OTT. Punisher War Zone also had OTT villains but their performance matched the tone of the film.

Blackout's one of my favorite from the comics. Some good stories that came from him, as a simple a villain he was. He's no Skinner or Scarecrow, but he's up there. Him and Deathwatch.

Yeah he kind of pulled a dark knight Joker scenario on Dan Ketch which led to him getting his throat ripped out.. He was formidable for a while because GR wouldn't kill him. That later changed and he's been pretty lame since.

Oh, yeah. He was pretty lackluster during the Siege of Darkness era, but the first 3 years were great storytelling, and one of the best stories came from towards then of Mackie's run. in the mid 50s where GR left him tied to the top of a skyscraper during sunrise.

Are they both Ghost Rider characters? Or are they from different universes / canons and only one of them is this villain?
