Yeah Blackheart pretty much sucked visually compared to his comic book counterpart. At least it seems they have nailed the look of Blackout in this one.

Are they both Ghost Rider characters? Or are they from different universes / canons and only one of them is this villain?

You're looking for this. This infobox image is crap, but there are better shots in the gallery. Blackout is the kind of guy who'll just randomly tear a 3 year old in half, and drown a kitten in the blood, just to annoy Ghost Rider enough to react.

Red rider, look at those scans I put up..I'll put more up later showing to what extent he went just to piss GR off.

Yes, the death of Linda Wei. The last good think Mackie was able to do before he sadly left the book.

I hope they're some changes in the film from the script regarding the fight with Blackout, because I sure want to see an badass fight between GR and Blackout.

I don't want to see a boring ass JB vs Blackout fight, that'll be just as lame as the final fight from the first GR film.

Saw the trailer. My thoughts. Not a fan. The trailer for the first film was perfect. Sam Elliot's speech, the money shots, the score, Cage looking truly haunted...this trailer, & my wife said the same thing, looks like anything but a movie about a man possessed but rather some generic CG action flick. For starters, what's with all the daytime coverage? It really doesn't work for Ghost Rider. And the the tone? Doesn't feel at all like what it was - a horror comic. I'm still gonna watch the movie because maybe the marketing department cut this trailer to appeal to the kids. There was no display of Zarathos or of the real occult aspect of the film, so I'll hold out for the movie to pass judgment. But as far as the trailer goes, thumbs down.

To anyone who's read the script, is there any scenes where Ghost Rider projects fire from his hands at his ememies?

Oh and I remember someone saying in one script Ghost Rider rips a car in half with his bare hands, was that in the script for this film?

That seems like a good read.
What happens next?

Yeah Blackheart pretty much sucked visually compared to his comic book counterpart. At least it seems they have nailed the look of Blackout in this one.
Blackheart was pretty awesome in the game adaptation of the movie, though...which was much superior to the movie too.

Thanks for the link. Also, "who'll just randomly tear a 3 year old in half, and drown a kitten in the blood, just to annoy Ghost Rider enough to react."... Wow. I really REALLY hope they make the movie version something like that.

Holy awesome. Loved them. In some parts he feels kinda like Vampire Joker. A fun but terrifying villain. Hope they don't ruin him in the film.

^In my eyes they already have, he is nothing like his comic counterpart in the movie judging by the script.

Well since you've read the script can you answer my questions in the post have quoted below.

To anyone who's read the script, is there any scenes where Ghost Rider projects fire from his hands at his ememies?

Oh and I remember someone saying in one script Ghost Rider rips a car in half with his bare hands, was that in the script for this film?

Ghost Rider might be a horror/occult comic, but it's always been action packed. The display of powers and action in the trailer is spot on.

Also, Ghost Rider comics have never been 100% deadly serious. They have a streak of twisted humour going through them.

Remember this is the first trailer of a sequel to a toxic movie. They are gonna have to focus on big money shots to get people interested in the name Ghost Rider again.

Dammit. Did you read the final draft? Let's hope they've made some changes or at least, created a decent villain of their own if it's not faithful to comics.

Accuracy to the comics doesn't matter that much to me, unless they outright destroy a character ie Deadpool in Wolverine. As long as the film is good, I'm happy.

If I was the studio, I woulda gone after the horror fans instead. Look at all the money the Paranormal Activities have made with virtually invisible budgets. Or look at the success of True Blood which lives in a thin line between horror and black humor. The last film failed not only because it was a bad movie but because it really didn't know what it wanted to be. Action, horror, comedy, CBM...Ghost Rider is a demon. His arch-nemesis is Satan. His heavies are vampires & warlocks. This needs to round the horror genre or yet again it will fail in the eyes of anyone who hasn't read the comic or that doesn't like Cage's action films. I'll hold out for the actual film, but if it ends up being another cheesefest, Sony will have yet again failed at capturing the essence of the character. I got into this comic because of how dark it was. The Dan Ketch saga was just deliciously grim and morbid. For an early 90s Marvel comic, it was really as sinister of a book as you could find. Hopefully N/T read that series.

I hope it's more based on Garth Ennis' work with the character. That's the best Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider has ever been in my opinion.

Road to Damnation is amazing. A straight up adaptation of that would be perfect. Start the film off with Blaze in Hell trying to escape. There is some great scenes in the book where GR is riding away from thousands of different demons and hellspawns etc.

This! So true. The GR1 was aimless. This one seems more awesome but more focused? Only time will tell.

What Fox did to Deadpool was beyond destruction. They must pay!
But seriously, as someone who's just found out about awesomeness of Blackout, I may not be best person to ask but why wouldn't they stay accurate to the comic book version?

Well, I'd like to see them steer away from all the Lilith bullspit. Okay for the comics, but I can't see it working in a movie. But then again, I've no idea how they plan on telling us how Blackout exists.

It was more of a script summary, but I read enough to know Blackout is nothing like his comic-book counterpart.

Didnt read the final draft more of a summary, but trust me, this aint the Blackout from the comics, his powers are more like Blackhearts from the first movie.

Blackout is an awesome villain, dont know why they had to change him.

Apparently the devil just turns him from a normal human into something looking like Blackout but with Blackhearts powers.

And there goes some of my interest in this film.
