just for shiz n gigs, IF there was to be a new line up, here's who i'd pick from..

Paul Rudd
Ron Livingston
Hank Azaria
Sacha Baron Cohen
Orlando Jones
Steve Zahn
Rob Corddry

Personally I think 3 guys and 1 girl is good combo. So u got oscar as one of the guys, one slightly older guy to be more of the super smart/techy guy, an average joe like winston was, the girl who they could play into oh a girl can't be buster. Then like others said make oscar the jokester buster of the group. But since been around the originals all his life he has some smarts about science/ghosts.

Then have a backplot saying maybe as a kid/teen oscar went busting with the guys from time to time. So he is the most experienced of the new team.

DAN AKYROYD SAYS GB3 WILL GO FORWARD WITH OR WITHOUT BILL MURRAY...

As the article notes, this will be the fifth time GB3 has started shooting, hehe.

We'll see, I suppose. Gotta doubt it at this point.

I like that he offers reasons why he and Ramis' characters would be passing things on. Wonder if Ernie Hudson would get to take on the lead training role because, as in real life, he's the only one that's in any kind of shape anymore? Ha.

Dans proposed lineup reminds of Extreme Ghostbusters. I guess its the idea of a girl in the group.

That's what I posted yesterday. At least it mentions all the times Akroyd has lied to us , lol.

Yeah. Although GB3 is closer to happening than it was in 99 I'll believe it when i see it.

Oh that Bill Murray. he teases us so.

At least he still fits in his suit unlike Ramis.

sowwy bullets didn't see that... but yeah, the article... maybe Dan is just trying to get a response from Murray, who probably has still yet to read the script or has and hasn't committed to it in any way. Technically they don't need Murray or Venkman's character to proceed. It would be a great shame if they do go forward and make the film without him, though.

I don't know. I kind of want to see the film and I kind of don't. That nostalgic part of me would geek out for GB3 but the realist in me worries about the quality of the film and I can actually sympathize with Murray. I want to see it but it could easily be terrible.

Then I remember Murray did those awful Garfield movies for a paycheck. And he wasn't even half as good as the late great Lorenzo Music...the guy I've heard he supposedly complained about voicing Peter on the Real Ghostbusters. Then I kinda get annoyed with Bill Murray :(

I feel the same. exact. way.

But at this point what does Murray have to lose? I don't reckon he needs the work. I think he's genuine in his concern that he doesn't want to make GB3 just for the sake of making it... he wants it to be a worthy successor to the previous films.

I can understand that. If he's holding out for it to be the best film possible more power to him.

If they go into this trying to churn out a subpar movie it shouldn't be made at all.

Well then that begs the question whether Ernie Hudson, Aykroyd and Ramis all believe in it... or are they doing it for different reasons than Murray?

Hard to say since we haven't seen the most recent script. All three, especially Aykroyd, have done things that didn't have the best scripts. So has Murray to a lesser extent.

Could be those guys doing it just to do it for a paycheck or it could be Murray just being stubborn.

Dan and Harold definitely have the passion for the project. I take it Murray is just completely dis-interested.

Hudson? I think he has the attitude of his character...if there's a paycheck, he's in. :woot:

...having said that, in spite of all this recent talk I feel that it still doesn't matter. Call me when you have a production photo, THEN i'll be excited.

:again, unsubscribes from thread:

I do really hope it happens. It could we never know. Things could always change on a dime.

The thing is, it would automatically become a massive merch blitz all over again, not only for nostalgia value, but for young'uns who only know of the original in passing. More toys, cereal, video games, action figures, etc.

Hudson is doing it because he needs work.

No he doesn't he doing films and tv appearances all the time.

Why not just replace Bill Murray with Rick Morranis and call it a day. After all doesn't he become a ghostbuster in the last film? I think he would do well.

well rick is even more less likely actor to return with his retirement from acting pretty much. i see murray happening then rick.

Rick won't come back. He quite acting/retired after his wife died. It's a personal thing for him.

I wish he'd come back though. :csad:

I'm pretty sure Ramis' involvement made Year One a bearable horrible movie instead of one where it hurts too much to watch again.

If they get everyone back I think Rick Moranis would make an exception. His daughters are probably older he might like the idea of them seeing him in a new film.

They get asked about it so much some of them might feel a certain responsibility. It's mostly what they'll be remembered for. I think Aykroyd believes this is what the fans want and he's determined to do it. I don't question his motivations. The other two are probably along the lines of "sure, why not". I think the prospect of money comes as an added bonus in the scheme of it.

ya maybe rick could happen as a small cameo but even then probably not. If anything mention louis and maybe just say he is off doing something else during the events of the film.
