I don't have link from this. But saw and article stating that columbia/sony was looking into that aziz guy from parks and rec show as a possible new buster. What yours thoughts on this guys.

I like his stand up routine but he can annoy me sometimes in certain roles . It wouldn't be the worst choice though.

i don't mind Aziz. he's got his funny moments, but i don't want him as a Ghostbuster

in fact, i've already come to terms that this 3rd film is not happening sadly

Sadly? Sounds like it might be a relief if it wasn't made.
The second one was bad enough, it would be like laying a mind**** on someone after they'd just had less than a day to recover from a bit of mental illness, pretty sadistic, even for a test.

Who knows how a third film would turn out. Just cause the second wasn't the best. We could get something better.

Nah, I went through enough mindpain watching the second one, if the third piles up in the mind badly enough and it comes crashing down, then it might be one to get drunk to, and let the chips fall where they may. You takes your chances with the audience's sanity, you take part of the blame if it comes crashing down.

Dan Aykroyd Drops Signficant Ghostbusters 3 Details

August 25, 2011

After years of rumors, it appears that Ghostbuster 3 is finally moving forward and will likely do so with or without Bill Murray's involvement. DanAykroyd appeared on The Dennis Miller Show to discuss the project, dropping specific details about the sequel, hinting that the plan is to film in Spring of 2012 no matter what happens casting-wise.

"Yes, we will be doing the movie and hopefully with Mr. Murray," he says, "That is our hope. We have an excellent script. What we have to remember is that 'Ghostbusters' is bigger than any one component, although Billy was absolutely the lead and contributive to it in a massive way, as was the director and Harold [Ramis], myself and Sigourney [Weaver]. The concept is much larger than any individual role and the promise of 'Ghostbusters 3' is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood."

The comedian also confirmed reports that the plot will revolve around a new generation of Ghostbusters and hinted at the states of his and Ramis' characters.

"My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can't drive the cadillac," he says, "He's got a bad knee and can't carry the packs... Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that's the promise. We're gonna hand it to a new generation."

As for who might be cast as the new characters, Aykroyd says that, while no decision has been made, he does have a fondness for one piece of prospective casting.

"I like this guy Matthew Gray Gubler from the 'Criminal Minds' show," he adds, "But there's going to be a casting. We're going to see everyone that wants to do it. We're going to need... three guys and a young woman."

We've heard all this before from Aykroyd and it's a moot point.

Pretty certain Bill Murray has to approve of the story (regardless of if he's in the movie or not) before any version of Ghostbusters 3 gets made.

hahahah Dan.....you are just ''dan''

he is acting like they can make the movie without Murray. the question is why they didnt make it without Bill before? come on Dan. i am sure you are not poor. i bet you live a good life. enough is enough.

On the one hand it does suck that a project has to hinge on one actor making or breaking, but sans Peter....it ain't working. No matter how many other funny guys you bring on.

If Bill Murray Is In Ghostbusters III from earlier reports It would only be a cameo where
he Is killed and becomes a ghost.

Ghostbusters III will be a major disappointment If good use Isn't made of original characters.Even If Eliza Dushku Is cast as female ghostbuster.

Bill Murray or not I hope to see Ghostbusters 3 meet the light of day. Although I sure hope to have Mr. Murray involved.

**** Bill Murray. This isn't even about Ghostbusters 3, he just seems like a major *****e. :o

Even if Bill Murray comes back it's not going to be the same anyways. If the story is good and the get a decent cast I'll be happy enough. It all reminds me of Extreme Ghostbusters the cartoon. It wasn't as good but I had fun with it.

That show was actually pretty good though. Even darker than the original one.

The Real ghostbusters was ungodly good for its day, it was one of the first fairly mature cartoons on saturday. I'm sure it looks dated now though.

I never saw the Extreme version..looked good though.

The Boogeyman used to scare the bejesus outta me.

Well Real Ghostbusters WAS relatively mature, until it got censored by whining parents. The later seasons are almost painful to watch compared to the first two.

Extreme was okay... the characters were a bit stiff and it really over embraced its kind of grungy theme at times.

I loved both The Real and Extreme Ghostbusters. Though I sometimes thought of the Extreme team as the Diversity Task Force Ghostbusters. Got myself the firehouse collection box of The Real Ghostbusters from time life awhile back and it's great going back to watch an episode every now and then. The interviews with J. Michael Straczynski are really interesting.

But am I the only one who doesn't want a Ghostbusters 3? I just think it's been too long. If the Ghostbusters were going to pass the reins to a new team they would have done so years ago if they were real. I just don't think a new movie would have the same charm and feel as the first two. The ghosts would probably look more serious and realistic as appose to the cartoonish look of the originals. The proton packs and gear would be upgraded, safer, and probably look like Apple products taking away the danger and homemade look. And I just get the feeling that any new actors would end up trying to be new versions of the originals instead of having actual identities.

Am I alone in this? To me the third movie was the video game and that was more than I could have hoped for.

Though I must admit, the idea of Venkman being a ghost sounds funny. He could just show up randomly in the firehouse a couple times to insult or question Egon, Ray, and the new team.

Honestly... I am on the fence. I love Ghostbusters. It's in my top 5 favourite films. I even love GB2.

For me, GB3 will only work to have a solid script and a REASON why these characters are returning. for sony to bring everybody back just to continue the franchise by having newer/younger Ghostbusters it not it.

Ghostbusters is my favorite film of all time. GB2 is somewhere in the top 15. My love of the films is why I don't want a sequel. If it sucks, it'll put a blemish on the ghostbusters name. It could still turn out to be a great movie that lives up to the originals, but i just feel like the chances of that are small.

I'd rather get another animated series that maybe takes place in the film universe (unrelated to The Real and Extreme cartoons) and have it set sometime in the 90s with the GBs training a new team and setting up a Ghostbusters Franchise. But that will probably never happen.
