So Mindy Kaling is suggesting herself, Emily Blunt, Taraji Henson and Natalie Portman.

Those are some actresses with credibility.

Why do you like her, honestly?

I've never found her funny. She is like Ferrel... loud and annoying and everywhere. And, she uses her weight as a crutch for comedy, which is sad.

Only time she was alright was in Gilmore Girls. That's because she was toned down, peppered in, and pretty normal. Not someone who was an endless butt of a fat jokes, or who shouts for no reason, and is always in your face...

Because she gets a lot of laughs around the immediate family. And that's all it takes, because the RL fam takes precedence over whatever the internet decides is cool. Mom likes her in Bridesmaids, my dad admired her foul mouth in The Heat, I think she's got good timing, hilarious line delivery and I dig comedic actors who like to improvise. Is that enough reasons? Should I fill out a form?

I agree with Whiskey. Sometimes her schtick is overplayed, sure (I HATED Identity Thief with a fiery passion), but I think with the right people she's got good comedic timing and delivery, and she and Sandra Bullock had some golden comic chemistry in The Heat, imo.

I also agree that Aubrey Plaza would be fun in a movie like this, as would Emily Blunt. I could tolerate Mindy only in small doses, lol. What about Amy Poehler? After a certain scene in Zombieland, I kinda think it would be fun for Emma Stone, too.

I'll be honest, I was dead set against this sequel after Harold passed away, but the only way I'd approve is if it's a totally different series that's only vaguely associated with the originals. I must admit an all female version has me intrigued.

Whatever. GB 3 doesn't look to be stellar at this point. Maybe they can salvage something but the odds of it feeling like Ghostbusters is dismal, and even Ghostbusters 2 didn't feel like Ghostbusters to me so bleargh!

Which is funny considering it was basically a carbon-copy of the first script lol

I like Plaza for this, mainly cause I've always wanted Kylie Griffin to show up in the movies and she could work. But I do NOT want McCarthy anywhere near this.

Don't get her appeal but then again I also don't like Chris Farley. They seem to have the same type of humor, the "obnoxious loud person that falls alot" Not my cup of tea

Catherine Tate would be amazing as well. Melissa McCarthy is too good an idea to pass up. So would mo'nique and margaret cho who I've always wanted to see more of

Shouldn't be a reboot though just a contemporary version of the team. There's. I. We'd to reboot it if your going with a. We cast of different characters



Two words: Brand Name

But what's the point of having a brand name if there's nothing left of the brand? They aren't going to be able to replicate what made Ghostbusters unique (the writing and the actors). If what they're going for is funny women who fight ghosts, that doesn't need to be Ghostbusters specifically. Change a few things and you can make it a completely different story about the same thing and not have to worry about living up to the Ghostbusters name.

No matter what they do, it isn't going to be like the 1984 Ghostbusters, so they might as well just ditch that idea and do something entirely new with the concept.
