Now that I look at this picture I realized the new costumes don't have name tags...no wonder they bugged me.

I was looking up Cadillac hearses because my wife really wants to make a replica. '59 was always out of reach, but, right now, the '89s are affordable. Wishful thinking, really. Anyways I found this:

Seems that yellow light on top comes with certain models. Makes sense to have a caution light on top for the purpose of letting people know a procession is coming through and they need to slow down, pull over, and whatnot.

I'm not exactly sold on the suit(looks weird on McCarthy), but I really like the Ecto-1 and Proton Packs.

Still not excited for this, but some of the stuff looks alright.

Huh, so that's the '89, which is 30 years after '59, and 30 years since the first movie.

From Tatum's last comments on the subject, it's probably not going to happen which is fine. Announcing that project right after you just announced and cast this version seemed like nothing more than spite and a tactic to just appease pissed off fanboys.

But apparently that was in the cards in those leaked Sony emails as well. While it's kind of cool, it'd be nice to see Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum not leading every single new franchise under the sun.

Honestly from what I've seen and heard, there's nothing about this movie that gives me pause. They just better deliver now.

Hate to keep harping on this but you are most definitely right. Had everything we've been shown thus far stayed the same and the only thing that was changed was the four women characters to either: A) actresses deemed more "attractive" or B) men, people would not be complaining like they are.

Dare I say it Feig (despite attempts to get Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone) with Melissa, Wiig, Jones and Kate has a cast that represents to me why GHOSTBUSTERS appealed as a kid. And that was nothing to do with the fact that they were guys. Let me explain:-

Unlike most of the other sci-fi or fantasy heroic fiction of the time(comic books, film, tv etc) here were popular heroes...who didn't look or behave like superheroes in any shape or form and the subtext in the first two films was that it was easy to see why some people didn't take Venkman and Co seriously just by looking at them. By casting actresses who aren't deemed conventionally attractive by Hollywood standards coupled with the incredible fact that 3 of the 4 leads are in their 40s it pays tribute to the idea that what made Ghostbusters....Ghostbusters is the idea that they could be any average looking joe or jane on the street.

I'm more than happy for the female led blockbusters we're now getting but, along with SPY, I find Feig's resistance in making his heroines 'young and beautiful' damn refreshing and in a weird, and sad way, boldly compromising.

I am hesitantly looking forward to this movie now. So far the look is there...but the writing is of course the big thing. Can they capture the FEEL...
