The planets must have aligned, after watching the BvS trailer I'm actually wiling to give this movie a chance. Maybe it's the endorphins.

That trailer was so good it just makes everything else better. Did Affleck say anything at all during the trailer and still...such presence.

Next year is going to be a fun one. Especially if these movies end up actually good. Hope they show stuff from Suicide Squad soon.

Is this movie still being called Ghostbusters 3? Because if it's not a continuation of the first two movies, then they should drop the number and just call it "Ghostbusters".

I'm pretty sure it's just called Ghostbusters now.

I would say I'm getting a Superman Returns vibe with this movie but I'm not sure Paul Feig is that big of a GB fan.

According to AICN, Dan Akroyd will cameo as a taxi driver who says "I ain't afraid of no ghosts".

I don't hate it. He's part of the lifeblood of New York. I don't think he'd mind that cameo, either.

Plus...who's to say the cabbie isn't Ray? Hell, the last time the GB went out of business he and Winston were working children birthday parties for cryin out loud!! Lol.

I'm actually hoping Bobby Brown shows up as a doorman again.

It's the scenario that bothers me. It's going to be a painful gag that drags on too long in an effort to deconstruct the obvious. "Aint afraid of no ghost" is a dialect, a feeling. It's incorrect grammar, but so is "Another Brick in the Wall, Pt II". Like that, it doesn't need explaining or correction. It's too obvious a joke to waste screen time on. Worst of all, it's apologist in the same way the latest Ninja Turtles skirted around including actually using "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" or cowabunga.

This has probably been pointed out to death and I'm the 1,000th person to mention it, but has anyone noticed that Kate McKinnon looks like Egon from The Real Ghostbusters series?

Totes looks like RGB Egon. Apparently some folks that were at Matty's SDCC booth when the pack showed up were told by the Sony rep that we should be seeing the PKE Meter and the trap soon. Apparently, the PKE Meter is very Real Ghostbusters like.

That cameo suits Dan. I wouldn't be surprised if he helped put that together.

Okay, here you go. Erin Gilbert, Jillian Holtzmann, Abby Yates and Patty Tolan. Now you know even more.

Ugh, the names aren't as good as the original.

:o

I know, Patty with a Y instead of Patti with an I?

F*** YOU, FEIG!!! :argh:

I'm still waiting to see how they conceive the ghost in a post 2000 horror era. Are they going full on scary or more all-ages.

Feig has stated he intends the film to be much scarier than the first two. More 'EVIL DEAD' than GHOSTBUSTERS. Though I'll believe that when we see it.

I just saw 'Spy'...and it was actually pretty darn good. Gives me hope for this flick.

Considering all the ghost flicks that have come out since 84 I assume he may take some jabs at stuff like J-horror, the found footage thing, etc. I think a hilarious teaser would start off like it's one of those typical Asian horror movies with the stringy hair ghost chick and then suddenly you hear the proton intialize noise and then see it get trapped. That's all you would need/

heh that's pretty good.

The wife and I saw it a couple of nights ago. We both laughed throughout. Things about it that gave me even more hope for Ghostbusters:

-Melissa McCarthy kicked butt. She wasn't portrayed as the helpless woman who trips over herself. That's what everyone else wanted her to be, but she actually was fully capable of taking everyone out.

-Feig is perfectly capable of directing action sequences. A plus for Ghostbusters.

-It wasn't just a spoof. It was an actual Spy movie. Feig has done a different genre with each film. Yes, he tends to direct women, but I think this is just his strength. He brought the best out of Melissa McCarthy in Spy and I think he'll do it again in Ghostbusters. I have no doubt that he'll bring the same respect to the Ghostbusters genre as he did with the spy genre in Spy.

-He'll bring the funny. Hell... cast Jason Statham NOW! He was friggin' hilarious.

I'm still hoping for an earlier than usual teaser trailer. Something like what happened with '89 Batman. Get something out there that encapsulates the feel of the film the restore some hope for the older audience more familiar with Ghostbusters that might be turned off by this.

I like this idea.

Alright made my line. Re-plyaed the game and watched the original again. If this crew doesn't put out on the Stay Puft scene then I am out of this one and this **** aint getting my cash. If ya can't get that right then you are done.

From what I've heard (SPOILER)
the Stay Puft marshmallow man scene is sort of there but the SPMM has been replaced with the ghost of a T-rex.
