Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd wearing proton packs again makes it an automatic must-see.

Here's hoping the rest of the film is worthwhile too. I didn't love the Stay Pufts scene, but I need to see the full context to know for sure. For one, it clearly felt like an edited down version of the scene, it just progressed super fast. But I'll also say that it still came way closer to the tone of the originals than anything in the 2016 film. Just the fact that Paul Rudd wasn't cracking jokes through that whole sequence was a step up.

Yeah, same here. I'm also interested in seeing how they honor Egon's legacy.
I like the vibe from the trailers too so I'm staying quite optimistic about this movie.

I think revolving it around Egon’s family with his grandchildren and the OG Ghostbusters coming back to help out the “family”.

Unless the give it proper explanation, I didn't really care for the Stay Pufts either. Yeah it was like Gremlins and all, but why are the ghosts taking the form of little Stay Puft creatures? They never did anything like that before. Why are they haunting marshmallows?

In the first movie, it took the form of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man for a specific reason.
Def gremlins vibe, nostalgia too.. don't be surprised if these are pushed as the next baby Yoda, or at least they hope it will. I saw through it and whilst int he movie it can work... it just looked forced in this clip... reasons we scrutinize it, it could be an indication of what's to come.

Jesus, if we’re giving this much scrutiny to this clip, it’s going to be a long marketing campaign.

That's why they better up their game.

Yes, the OG team in the suits one more time will be sweet...

This is why the 'reboot' could have worked... on their day, the actresses can deliver a solid performance... this scene alone shows you don't need constant one liners and smart ass quips.

Glad we are where we are tho.

It actually amazes me that studios can reboot then return to the source material..

Halloween, GB's, Terminator etc...Still, we'll see.

I just want this movie to hurry up. Feels like the OG ghostbusters will be gone by the time it comes out. I been wanting this third film for so long. The last stretch is always the longest it feels. I'm so ready

Yeah, that's the thing. You can easily picture the Paul Rudd equivalent of that.

"What’s that??? Is it a little guy??? A little marshmallow guy??!! And he’s climbing out of the bag!!! Whaaaa"...etc.

But it was pretty restrained and he just reacted like a normal person would.

It's why I think Leslie Jones is the MVP of that awful reboot. She's the only lady who actually acts like she's afraid of the things she encounters. Beyond some awful lines, most of which unfortunately landed in the trailers, Jones' character has moments of what I'll dub 'deadpan terrified', which I think is pitch perfect for this series. Considering, I think it's tragic that Jones has ended up with the most ire for and from the internet mob.

I guess I'm in the minority of people who liked the mini Stay-Pufts scene...mainly because my kids thought it was awesome, and I found it hilarious. They are just meant to be cute, and I'm okay with that. Then again, my kids have been watching the OG and the Real Ghostbusters a LOT for the past...like...8-10 years.

Either way, I'm there.

Just like with the Dune figures... I guess they didn't get the memo.

Man that is trending close on the Extreme Day-Glow era...
Don't know if the world is ready for the Live Action Extreme! sequels ...

Although ....:funny:

(Edit: for Ramis)

that's where the real expansion of the property lies, a live action extreme GB series.
They should make more scary Ghostbusters movie at some point. Like the Extreme Ghostbusters cartoon:
So basically we're getting Extreme Ghostbusters.
It's inevitable.

I don't know how old that fancast picture is but Harold Ramis has been dead for seven years, which makes a live action Extreme Ghostbusters even less likely than it already was, unless they were to replace Egon with Ray or Winston (we all know Bill Murray probably wouldn't go for it). The show was basically a failure that only lasted one season so I doubt they'd take a chance on it.

Or his Ghost! A haunted floating pair of spectacles. :cwink:
That whoever they land on, can get special "ghost vision" = seeing those possesed, (à la; They Live)

Nostalgia is nice and everything, but it doesn't make an automatic good movie either. The Ghostbusters video game was really good and had the entire main cast back doing their voices. So I mean if I want nostalgia that badly, I can play that.

Didn't say it was definitely going to be a great movie. But I do think it does make it an automatic must-see if you're a fan of the originals. Just saying I don't really need to be sold on the movie. I'd happily watch it tomorrow without any further trailers or marketing. My ticket is bought and I'm hoping for the best.

Honestly, the best possible marketing they could do is not show a single frame of any of the original characters in any trailer. It builds the anticipation of wanting to learn where they're all at 30 years later and how they fit into this story.

I loved the 2009 Ghostbusters game. For me, that will always be the third movie

Speaking of, I wonder if Reitman and the writers consider the game canon and if there will be a small reference to events that is occurred in the game

At the very least the late Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd helped write that game. But I like you also view it as the true Ghostbusters 3.
