There is really no comparison, other than instead of those Germans seeing themselves all as Germans, the Nazis introduced racism/culture as a way to divide Germans, to get neighbors to turn on one another. Her statement suggests that instead of using race/culture, our current structure is using political ideology to get neighbor to hate their neighbor, and if we don't learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. To that point, I believe that's exactly what's happening today.

We can and should lambaste her for her pisspoor analogy, we could also not treat each other as mortal enemies over political opinions. Conservatives and liberals could actually get along if they wanted to.

Not too get too political, but considering you brought it up, in America the conservative party runs on a platform built on bigotry and class warfare, I am not exactly sure how anyone on the left is suppose to "get along" with them. We just had an attempted coup (crappy as it was) and are living in the middle of a pandemic that is hurting and killing people everyday, while one side of the political spectrum has decided the deaths are just part of doing business.

Maybe Cyborg caused some serious head trauma? I get that social media can be drug-like, I get that. But you think right now especially, and being in the position she is, with people already calling for her head, she'd have a little more self-awareness. Or at the very least, she'd have some managers or publicists she pays to advise her not to tweet, drunk tweet, whatever.

Like now is not the time. It just isn't.

Last time she had a 'day', there were a number of tweets about how people were randomly finding themselves blocked on Twitter by her, despite never tagging her, and in some cases messing with her name so it didn't come up while searching it (ex. g*na c*rano), so it wouldn't exactly shock me if she spent a fair bit of time browsing those singing her praises. Ironic given those same people were the ones furious about her casting during season 1.

This is the thing. She's easily replaceable. Her character is not as crucial to the story as a number of others. That's why her doing this is the worst possible time for her. Rather than pissing everyone off, she should be in a position where fans are rooting to see more of Cara Dune. Now she's tossing all that in the trash when she's not that important of a character to the storytelling of the show.

I don't know about Rangers, but it's not like she's bringing anything to the table anyone else isn't here. She's not a good actress, and the only thing she has going for her is the NR connection - something that there are many ways you could get to without her, featuring older more interesting characters or new ones that can not be played by people who compare being a Trump supporter to being Jewish during the Holocaust.

I absolutely despise how conservatives think that their political beliefs are even remotely on the same level as being Jewish. One is a heritage, an ethnicity, a way of life passed down through generations that you can't just change or ignore. The other is piss poor education and an unwavering belief that saying bigoted things is a right and being told to shut up is persecution. People can change their political beliefs. You can't change being Jewish.

I get it. It's why our parents always warned us to never discuss politics or religion in polite company, because these are the types of topics that wind up destroying families and friendships. But we have more in common than that which divides us. That doesn't mean that we need to sweep everything under the rug, but we must initially find the common ground to have real, and not rhetorical, conversations. It seems that there is a strong push to divide Americans into tribes and camps, "us vs them", and its working. Regardless of who's doing it, we the people are the only ones who can stop it.

What divides us matters. Bigotry, a lack of support for those who need it, and blatant lying that has seen hundreds of thousands dead in this country alone matters. I have no common ground with those that support that.

Thing is with Rangers of the New Republic, unlike with Mando 3, Book of Boba, Ahsoka we don’t actually know too much about what this series will be specially about. We can guess that it’s vaguely about agents of the NR trying to establish some kind of law and order in the chaos of the Outer Rim against the onslaught of criminal organisations, Pirates and Imperial Remnant.

If that tracks then maybe it’s about Carson Teva going around Nick Fury style assembling different figures in the Outer Rim to form a loose first line of defence. Cobb Vanth could get hired, maybe they bring in Hera Syndulla as a big military backer, Greef Carga as their reluctant connection to the criminal underbelly. Heck, they could bring in a few EU characters for extra spice if they wanted to. I really don’t think it needs to be the Cara Dune show.
