Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back

They are both considered as equally awful as Friday in the league of awful songs in musical history.

Both were treated in the show as just as awful as Friday is no doubt going to be. Jesus H. Tap Dancing Christ.

Let's see Will only sang Thong Song because Ken wanted to mash it up with I Could Have Danced All Night. Those two songs didn't go together and they had an awful time getting Ken's **** song choice to mash with Emma's superb choice.

Run Joey Run was in an episode all about songs with a checkered musical past.

So yes way. :o

Goddammit, Billy, you flip out on a semi-daily basis around here, can't you just let me have this one?! :argh:

Didn't see this mentioned before:

Not sure if anyone's heard but Darren Criss' (Blaine) new musical, Starship was posted online recently and it's totally awesome!! :D

He doesn't appear in it but he's the songwriter.

P.S.: Catchiest villain song and reprise ever!!

Darren Criss is a ridiculous person. And I mean that in the best possible way.

Friday > Run Joey Run

Utter insanity.

You are on the crack rock. :o

I think I'm one of the rare people who've liked season 2 better all together. Song choices have been more varied, they've been sung by more people than just Rachel, Will, and Finn.

And despite the boring piece of wood that is Blaine, everything else has been good too.

I don't see how. I can understand the "variety" argument, I suppose...but season 1 was fresh and offbeat for the most part. It threw you curveballs like the stuck up cheerleader getting pregnant or the gay closet kid's dad NOT being a judgmental bigot. It subverted expectations and at least in the first 13 episodes...there was a sense of dreariness and realism to Lima, OH that made the glee club an outlet for escape from. Plus, Sue was a nasty, cruel and utterly detestable (but still vastly entertaining) villain.

In season 2, we can call all the CW-esque plot points, the music feels more like advertising for the dying record industry's latest Top 40 with a few back catalogue episodes thrown in and the characters are just cardboard cutouts now. Even Sue has gone from comical villain to goofy-comic relief subplot (think of Sue and Becky as Team Rocket). I wouldn't say the song selection is better either when we get entire Britney Spears episodes and songs like "Friday" make the cut.

I know I'm bashing the second season hard, but I'll put it this way whether it was due to hype or just my interest in the show, season 1 suckered me into downloading off iTunes 17 songs over the course of the season. Season 2 is almost over and I have 7 total, and a few of those I regret because they were at the beginning of the season and I got them out of hype.

The only thing season 2 improved was the use of Brittany and Santana as supporting characters.

Just my thoughts on comparison.

Friday > Run Joey Run

Rebecca Black's Friday is one of the worst pieces of "music" I've ever heard. But I can't despise it completely because it led to this bit of pure joy:

Too bad Glee couldn't do something as amazingly brilliant as this.

Have we SEEN what Glee did with it?

:whatever:

The arrangement is near identical to Rebecca Black's and lacks the lounge/swing vibe they added on Fallon's show. And though I haven't seen it, I know it won't feature the Knicks City Dancers, the Roots, Taylor Hicks rocking a ridiculously small harmonica and a Yeti dancing with a Bee Keeper. That is just too much awesome to top.

Im kind of hoping they do a mothers day episode next season so we can finally meet some more family members and well I want to hear someone tackle Spice Girls Mama.

"Quinn cheated on me with Puck. And then she cheated on Sam with me..."

Hmm, maaaaybe that should tell you that Quinn's kind of a ****e. :o

But it's okay, Finn, no one expects you to do anything that requires intelligence. :whatever:

Seriously, the next person who dates Quinn needs to sing Ginuwine's "What's So Different."
