Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back

That was mediocre, Jesse was annoying, and for the second to last episode of the season despite Sue renouncing her villain ways and Quinn and Finn breaking up. Not much really felt like it was needed.

I feel like the solos were included just because they wanted more music, when in fact, I don't feel like every episode needs to have 5 or more songs. I feel like Pure Imagination was enough for this episode.
I think that by this time, they would have selected or written their songs already and like Jesse said, be rehearsing their a$$es off.
But yeah... if Jesse wasn't Jon Groff, I would want to beat the **** out of him.

My Man was my personal highlight of the episode. Just flawless.

Okay.... to hell with anyone who says Jane Lynch doesn't deserve the Emmy win this year. I will literally take you out at the knees. And Sofia Vergara too, for that matter.

She doesn't deserve it this year. Not for comedy at least. Her performance tonight was amazing, but it was a DRAMATIC performance.

Doesn't have to be comedic acting. But she should win for that, too.

99% of what Colfer got his awards for are dramatic scenes, so that shouldn't rule out Lynch.

Jesse spoke so much truth tonight it was ridiculous. Finn as the weakest singer. Mercedes having a great voice but being lazy. Not spending enough time preparing for competitions. Yet New Directions will win doing it their way anyway. Why? Because the writers are just like Mercedes: lazy.

Still, I love having Jesse back. He is constantly cracking me up. And Jane Lynch was phenomenal tonight. Not looking forward to the original music next week at all (no, I haven't listened it yet. I know it's out there, but sadly, I already know it's awful by default). *still waiting on a Queen medley*

Eh. Sooner Jesse gets off my screen the better. He was fun last episode. This episode he just felt like he was tacked on to cause drama that just wasn't necessary going into the final episode. This whole episode asides from the stuff with Jean sort of felt like a bit of a waste.

Telling Finn how awful he is is always a useful thing to have around.

See while Finn still can't dance, he generally has improved singing wise this season. He had one song that was truly awful and that was Just The Way You Are, most everything else has been decent. He's still the weakest singer yes, but Jesse wasn't criticizing for the sake of actually helping. He was just being an *******. Typical Jesse St. James.

I just didn't see any sort of point to this episode beyond breaking up Quinn and Finn and Jean's funeral. And Jesse felt like just a tacked on annoyance to cause unnecessary drama within the club before the finale. I love Jonathan Groff but Jesse's kind of an ass hat who probably shouldn't have come back seeing as he's really added nothing to the show in his 3 episode stint so far.

In fact I'm hoping we get a reveal he's working for Goolsby all along next week, he works best as bad guy considering he's not a particularly nice person.

I don't think Jesse caused drama this week, I thought he was a comedic presence this week - a relief from the drama. And I found that presence to be quite welcome in an otherwise VERY heavy episode. The only real angst that came out of his presence was Finn seeing Rachel with him at the end. Otherwise, his storyline was the most light-hearted part.

I agree that Finn/Cory has improved dramatically, but outside of Sam, he's still the weakest male singer, imo.

And on a side note, since when do you love Groff, Bill? When his casting was first announced, I thought you were kind of against it?

I thought he was hilarious and spoke nothing but truth. Especially to Finn, Kurt and Mercedes.

I watched last night and it wasn't really until probably the funeral itself where I said to myself "Oh, okay. Maybe Sue's sister really DID die!"

I guess I was just expecting a big twist where it was revealed that Sue is so evil that she faked her sister's death as a means to distract the New Directions from their competition prep in the week before Nationals.

Finn broke up with Quinn because he's in love with Rachel, but Finn realized his true feelings too late because Rachel has just gotten together with creepy-staring badboy Jesse St. James!

Shes 35, thats old enough to be her mother if need be. They would probably be a really close mother/daughter duo.
