naw naw, no goblin face in the fire. that is liek people seeing the devils face in the WTC smoke(i actually did have a few shots that i saw demon faces in, but smoke is just cool like that) But i am hoping this pumpkin bomb to teh face disfigures him and puts him in full goblin mode. being that the syrum makes them super strong but not wholy indestructable to injury(norman still got implaed). It would be nice to see a goblin at some point rather than Paintball Harry the whole time.

Yep - no coincidence. And if you go to the next still in this sequence, you can see the goblin helmet start to take shape in the explosion.

The third still is the one we've been discussing... Full on Goblin face.

I disagree. It makes him look more Stephen Fry-esque.

Everyone who is looking for something that isn't there (as in, it wasn't CLEARLY placed there for the audience to see) then it ISN'T there.

You're on crack. All of you.

Dude, you sound like the students in my english classes when the teacher started talking about symbolism. Any time a teach would say something like, "the reason the character is named Jim Conklin is because he shares the initials "J.C." with the person he is paralleling - Jesus Christ."

When I was in that class as a student, I cried B.S. because I didn't think that an author would take the time to create subliminal items because there wasn't a guarantee that the reader would "get it."

Now, though, I think that good story artists DEFINITELY put that stuff in there - not just for the readers/viewers/fans, but also for their own enjoyment. Given that we can rewatch movies nowadays with our PCs and DVD players, it makes sense that the storytellers of our generation would certainly put this stuff in their films.

You watch - in the S3 DVD commentary, Raimi's gonna talk about how it was cool that the explosion animator managed to put the Goblin mask into the explosion.

this thread reminds me of this one

Right....

Except in that instance, Yoda has NOTHING to do with FF nor the Marvel Universe. Maybe an animator having fun, but the likelihood of Yoda having any type of impact on an FF film is slim to none.

In this instance, you have a Goblin pumpkin explosion in the Goblin's lair with the Goblin's son. Makes perfect sense to have the Goblin face in the flames.

If I said I saw ALF or Cookie Monster in the flames, you'd have a better case.

But there really was no Yoda in the Human Torch's arm...:csad:

Right.

So what's your point? That because Yoda didn't exist in an FF film on torch's arm that Gobby's face doesn't exist in the flames?

THIS AGAIN!? OMG! It isnt there for a reason it just happend. And if they wanted it there they still havnt put in all the final touchs on everything. So lets say in the final movie the Mask is there for some odd reason, they still havnt put it in yet. They still need to fix things up and add in things.

Digital animation doesn't just "happen", man. Someone has to create each shot.

They can use a randomizer, sure, but I have a hard time buying that a randomizer came up with something that looks like a Goblin mask.

I don't ;) honestly I have been on the Hype! for a while and there have always been things like this. Take the first Spidey 3 image. With symbiot spidey in rain, People where getting into arguments and getting warnings for arguing because they thought something was in his eye. Same thing happend when the site was released. Same thing happend when the X3 site was released.

So you're not willing to admit that there's something there?
