God of War II: Last gen ends when we say so

Okay, so I decided to completely forego any life I had the last couple of days and I just beat GOW2. ****ing awesome game. Their are some amzing boss battles and the story really ramps up towards the end. It's a much better story IMO than the first game and is even more epic (well as more epic than killing a god can be I guess). If you don't want to be spoiled, stop reading.

The ending is amazing and really sets up the third game. I love that Kratos brought back all of the titans to wage war on all of Olympus. I guess I was a little dissapointed that it ended on such a cliffhanger of the Titans climbing Olympus to wage war, but it is a fitting ending for the game. I just hope they start working on teh thrid really soon.

Ok, I find myself stuck for the first time in this game. In (or outside of rather) the Hall Of Atropos after you swing across the stone griffin heads there's a ledge. It has a Sister's eye to slow down time and a hand full of enemies jumping up on your platform to try to fight you.

After you clear out those guys....where do you go? There's no where to go but down....which results in death. I'm looking all over the place for breakable walls and what not but there's nothing. There's another platform far in the distance and the horses even further away...but, they aren't much help. I can't even go back to the hall that I came from do to the swinging thing only appearing to be "one way.

Any help?

hmmm. I'm kind of unsure where you are exactly (it's hard to tell since a lot of the areas you have to backtrack through a bit.) Did you just get to Atropos? Have you fought the new enemies the Priest guys yet (the ones that just chant and shoot green stuff at you?)

Yeah, but I figured it out. At the end of the ledge, there were roots. I stood on the bump in the middle of the roots and boom, it was a button.

I felt dumb for a few moments.

ahhh...now that it's pointless, i know exactly where you are...no worries, there are a couple of times in teh game that I had no idea what to do, and then after 20 minutes of dying, realized that I'm just an idiot.

Alright I'm stuck fighting the sisters of fate, I'm at the third stage after fighting on the giant sword from part 1, and I keep knocking the first sister down and she starts to glow green WHAT DO I DOO after that? I've been fighting these *****es for about 40 minutes and I've gotten so good at it I don't even receive any damage anymore but I just don't know what to do after I knock her down...please help...I'm losing my mind.

Okay, this took me a bit too.

First just focus on the hot sister and not hte one in the mirror. When you get her beaten on enough, she falls and you see a glowing fate rock over her body. When you see this, slow down time. Then while time is slowed, run up and beat the **** out of the sister that is in the mirror (she'll be hanging out of one) you'll be able to beat her so much that she goes into the mirror and is trapped (the mirror is full of cracks now). BEat the mirror and break it. You have to do this again for the other side mirror.

Oce that is broken, there is only th emirror in the middle, but just keep fighting the hot sister, and then you will eventualyl get a button game thingy on her. trpa them both in the mirror and then break it to win.

Anybody beat this game yet?

I don't know if I can bring myself to say its better than the first one, but then at the end I just screamed it out lol. :D

It's pretty sad that they're still making games for the PS2. That's like making programs intended for windows 95. You don't see Microsoft making games ment for the xbox, you don't even see the ever pathetic wii making games for the game cube.

except that their reasoning was pretty good. Why waste the extra amount of time trying to figure out the PS3 programming, when you are already awesome at programming for the PS2? Even with all the extra time spent trying to figure out the PS3, you wouldn't be nearly as good with it as you would the PS2 which they have been working with for years. Trying to make a game that was better than the first one gave them enough to worry about, they didn't need to add "not knowing how to program as well" to that list. Instead they decided to focus on what they already know really damn well to give us an overall better game.

How is that pretty sad? They know they can make a ton of money off the hardwarre since it is installed in millions of homes already. They could have put this on the PS3 and it would help push systems but it wouldnt sell as well as it would have on the PS2. Besides Sony is being supportive of its millions of fans who are not able to upgrade yet and I am grateful bc I am very satisfied with my PS2. I would hate it if they took Nintendo's approach and declared the PS2 dead the minute the PS3 was released. taht would have been a way to screw us all over

The PS2 is dead, if they had any brains in their head they'd lower the price on the 20 GB to around 300 dollars so that most people could afford it. I wouldn't have gotten a 360 if the PS3 launched at 300ish. I love my 360 but I wouldn't have given it the chance if the PS3 wasn't so damn expensive.

For Feburary:

The Playstation 2 was the 2nd highest selling console. Being beaten by a 45 thousand unit margin by the Nintendo Wii, and outselling the Xbox 360 by 67 thousand Units.

- The Playstation 2 generated more software sales/revenue then any other platform for the month of Feburary.

If Sony didn't have Blu Ray cooking, I would say "If they had any brains they should have planned to release the Playstation 3 in late 2008 and used a Geforce 8X series based GPU".

The whole format war makes it a harder call.

AKA: PS2 isn't dead. ;)

It's not pretty sad. It's good business sense. Why throw all your effort into developing a game for a tiny userbase when there's already a huge userbase that can earn you massive amounts of money.

Off the back of GoW and GoW2 there'll be enough money going around to make a kick ass GoW3 for PS3.

The PS2, while I was never a huge fan, does still have playability, as does the Gamecube.

THERE ARE OVER 100 MILLION PS2 UNITS SOLD, I THINK THAT'S A HUGE MARKET, THAT'S POTENTIALY, NOT THAT IT WOULD HAPPEN, 100 MILLION GOD OF WAR GAMES SOLD!!! CALL ME CRAZY, BUT THAT'S PRETTY GOOD BUSINESS!!!:oldrazz: :D

After listening to the album Illinois, I had the feeling that there should, perhaps, be some kind of licensing requirement for instrument ownership. Playing God of War II gave us a similar feeling. This isn't entirely fair, and I'm aware of that, but the power of the game on an artistic and technical level constitutes a challenge to an entire industry.

Part of it is probably the sheer scale of the events you are taking part in. Kratos is literally pruning the Greek pantheon as he prowls from game to game. Deactivating them omnipresent warheads or averting global conflict should motivate, and deeply, but God of War's brutality has a spiritual dimension that the stock metanarrative which runs through so many games doesn't have. You aren't fighting with your best blood in order to simply retain the status quo. Every time you swing a sword, you are shifting an epoch.

Even solving a simple puzzle in God of War II is a savage affair that affirms your apostate rage! Everything is united: This was all true in God of War, and now the thematic stakes are even higher. New gameplay twists and inhumane finishing animations reaffirm that this is a franchise without peer.

One of the attack vectors against Sony is that they moved slowly and this caused them to lose many exclusives. Even at the dizzy height of my rage against them, I never found this line of reasoning especially compelling. Even hearing that Metal Gear might go to a Microsoft system - and it's not as though there's no precedent - doesn't especially shock me. To be honest, I would be happy if this game appeared on less than one platform. But for the longtime gaming enthusiast, what Sony can deliver as a first party has the power to compel - and this was before they started siphoning the cream of independent game development. Think seriously about the franchises and teams they represent, and then ask yourself how Nintendo is considered the king of in-house development.

You're in for a shock going back to the old system, graphically I mean, but I am pleased to announce that this shock is of a short duration. I felt my stomach roil for a period of (I believe) five minutes, after which epic feats of art direction and animation began to assert themselves. Eventually, it just looks like your screen is dirty.

When Final Fantasy XII was released, we were told that the Playstation 2's swan song had arrived, and then when Rogue Galaxy dropped, we were told again that we were sending this draped hero to eternity on a smouldering pyre. Now God of War II is available at retail, and we are being offered the same narrative. I wonder if it will be any more true this time.

(CW)TB out.

I rented this and what do you know, Disc Read Error. Ugh! Looks like Im gonna have to try and use swap magic. I'm playing the original in the meantime bc I need to get refreshed on the story

Hmmmm I think the people still buying it, the people still making games for it, and the people still using it would think otherwise

So anyway, has anyone beat the game on Titan mode yet? I've been playing it but it seems that everyday I get stuck at a different point in the game.
