Action-Adventure Godzilla 2016

The purple and black reminded me of something, and that's Doomsday from Superman Lives:

Purple is going to take some getting used to. But I like how burning parts change color as he is charging up.

Hope we get news about a US release soon.

The eyes are still the only problem I have with it.

I like the meaning behind the purple breath. In Japan, purple has a connection to death, and Godzilla's breath is atomic and can destroy and kill (like it was shown in G54). So in other words, Godzilla is literally spreading death.

ALso its a nice homage to Prince :D

This design has grown on me, so I like G16. However, I do notice a problem that holds the design back, and I didn't know what that was until recently: its the eyes. Godzilla's eyes feel like they don't fit with the rest of the design. This design is literally a Godzilla zombie; very scary, very much a creature of death. The eyes seem to fit a more classic Godzilla, or just a different thing altogether.

I found my answer in fixing Godzilla's eyes from a Godzilla design from one of my fav Godzilla movies: GMK:

Apply it to G16, and you get:

Now, the design works, and the point gets across.

Agree/disagree?

a simple fix and the entire look works...honestly a shorter tail and more proportionate arms and i'd be happy with the design.

The shot with the purple glow is honestly quite unnerving.

This new trailer is pretty great all around

I'm very excited by what we've seen of what Anno is doing with his take on Godzilla.

The United States and 23 other countries in North America are included.

I don't know when though and in how many theaters.

Someone on Tumblr translated the list.

This map from a newspaper article appears to reveal the identities of the 100 countries Godzilla Resurgence is confirmed to be distributed in. This list is incomplete, as not all numbers are accounted for and some territories will probably be confirmed later.

Shin Godzilla Looks Just Badass and Direct from Hell Can't wait to see The Movie

Wow! Such a huge difference just by changing the eyes!

The original eyes look like those sticky googly eyes and that looks somewhat weird and cheesy and funny.

But this moment:
https://youtu.be/eRgqRQTLH38?t=1m16s
looks weird and funny too, I mean, the first half of the growl feels like it's a sock puppet, the second, where Godzilla moves its head down, is so sad and dramatic, it feels like it's some soulful creature or something... And the tail... and hands... and those fat legs... it's just one big weird thing. I'm just starting to accept that's what we gonna get.

Why does Godzilla look WORSE than he did in the 1990s?

I don't mean the design and its oversized tail, T-Rex arms, and googly eyes, just the suit itself looks poorer-made.

He looked more believable in Biollante.

I'm not talking about the design itself, I'm talking about the suit, the way he moves, the way his jaw opens, etc.

He looks fake.

I'm not disagreeing with you.

But, I wonder if that's how it ultimately looks. If they try to speed it up, thinking it';ll improve the suit, it might actually not. You know what I mean? When we think something's better in our heads, but then once we see it, we realize why their decisions were right than ours? I wonder if that's the case here.

That or its just how it looks in the trailers, and not the case in the final film.

I could be wrong but aren't they using just props and puppets for Godzilla in this film? I don't think they're using an actual suit this time around.

I love many of the 90s era Godzilla films specifically because that is my favorite design and the tech at the time allowed for some pretty great imagery.

This new design has taken some getting used to. I would have like to have seen some more use of advanced in aanimatronics but there is some interesting blending of techniques here, building upon he attack on Titan films. whatever my qualms with the designs itself, the way the puppetry has been blended with cg and live action plates looks fantastic I think. Some of the most recent trailers have shown some really stunning camera angles. In general the compositing of the different elements looms great, that all the pieces exist in the same space. O e of my biggest pet peeves is bad compositing. The hobbit films for example have many truly egregious shots in that regard.

In general this movie seems to be leaning much more towards a stylization akin to A live action version of Evangellion. If Anno has also brought along the thematic depth and characterization from his other work, we are in for a hell of a ride.

Fumigation is distribution g the film in North America. They gave the Attack on Titan films theatrical showings. No date set yet but likely later this year.

Sounds good to me. I think they handled that well.

It's that weird syphilitic sore at the end of the tail that stands out as the worst for me.

It looks like a 2nd head at the tip of his tail. God I hope not, it's ugly looking enough as is.

That's the point.

The point is for a Godzilla suit in 2016 to look poorly designed and fabricated? That is a bad point to make, showing they can make something with Teddy Bear googly eyes in a monster movie in 2016. I still think they are gonna show us the real Godzilla, and he wont look like an inflamed part of anatomy/ burnt Meatloaf Kim Kardashian.

The point behind the G16 design is to make Godzilla a completely scary, hideous, creature from hell as he was designed to be like back during the conceptual progress for G54.

Also, like the G54 design, G16 shows that Godzilla has wounds on his skin, which is why it looks like that. It was even revealed that G16 doesn't even have a tongue because of what he'd been through!

Plus, wanted to share these:

Don't know if this is true, but I wonder what to expect if it is:
