Dumb question - which of those is the Heisei Godzilla?

Technically the 1984/85 Godzilla was the start of the "Hesei" era but the one we are referring to is the one listed as "1991" on that chart.

Basically 89-95 with a few small changes between films, the suit stayed pretty much the same.

I have to admit, so far I'm disappointed by how stiff and non expressive the new suit/ puppet/ digital model is.

Part of the reason I love the 90s godzilla so much is how much work they did with the face. While CGI has gotten better and cheaper, advances in animatronics and physical materials has also continued. I really wish the film and the design did more with what's available these days.

At one point WB decided to clear out their stock of Godzilla merch. I got the gian 40 inch tall Legendary Godzilla toy (Basically the Godzilla version of a My Size Barbie) for only 30 bucks. He lived on my kitchen table for a while. I dressed him up as Santa for Christmas last year.

Speaking of figures, the SH Monster Arts toy at least is capable of some dynamic poses.

GMK has sort of grown into my favorite. He looks just plain mean. Which fits the movie. Just took a bit to get used to his beer gut.

Not sure if anybody realizes this or not, but this Godzilla isn't suppose to look 'heroic', 'strong' or 'majestic' like Heisei or G14, he's suppose to be a more realistic representation of a Nuke/Atom victim hence the cancer/keloid skin, burned and deformed appearance. As a matter of fact, I think is the idea Honda was going for when he made Godzilla in 54'. Anybody who had the misfortune of seeing the Fukishima victims knows what i'm talking about.

When I saw the Resurgence Godzilla, I instantly knew they went old school with the design and I think that was a smart idea.

It sets him apart from our Godzilla and he looks far more terrifying and evil.

Godzilla should be scary.

Look at the inside of his mouth. It looks like his teeth have shredded his mouth. Everything about this design makes it seem like this Godzilla would be in constant excruciating pain. No wonder he is so pissed off.

I think the design went the right direction, it looks like some horror monster, but the tail and arms look just awful and ridiculous, which is bad. Otherwise I think the rest of the design looks really good!

It's pretty damn ugly, and for people who said the 2014 Legendary Big G had a thicker waistline, at least it didn't have saggy flesh. And that tail, looks to Tentacle like and not tail like.

The toy ads also advertise yet unseen toys referred to only as "Kaiju A" and "Kaiju B" word going around is that they are further regenerated forms of Godzilla from later in the movie.

I like the design but those googley eyes kill me.

Are those craft store google eyes? My god, who green lighted that Demon Kermit head design?
