Action-Adventure Godzilla 2016

Great thing about the Heisei Godzilla series which I used on myself: you can easily skip both Mothra AND SpaceGodzilla.

So it can be instead: 54>84>GvsB>GvsKG>GvsMGII>GvsD
Because each movie reference one another, but GvsMGII never referenced Mothra until GvsSG, almost like it never happened. And even in GvsSG, MechaGodzilla was never referenced from the mecha nor Little Godzilla was at first Baby Godzilla, but the events from GvsM is referenced. Almost felt like the odd number films of the Heisei series were direct sequels toward each other, as were the even number films too. Again, almost...

P.S. A reminder, since we mentioned the Heisei series: The Return of Godzilla, the original Japanese Version of what we know to be Godzilla 1985, will FINALLY come to America on Blu-Ray and DVD next month on the 13th!

I have it on pre-order! Super excited to get mine! Sad that the American version likely won't see release anytime soon, though. Would like to have both versions. I am hoping Kraken releases some of the other ones currently not on Blu Ray

I have seen the original cut. Personally, the movie in general is a mixed bag, as both versions have major pros and cons. The JP version has an important Japan during the Cold War era POV story, but the overall movie is boring. The English version has a better editing that makes the movie energized, but the story told in that version with Raymond Burr feels more insulting because of the changes (i.e. how the Russians are portrayed, for example).

If there was a third version that the JP cut with the editing of the Eng cut, then this movie would've been improved.

1st post! I must say...that is spectacular! Very, very glad Toho decided to get back in the game sooner than later. I'm looking forward to the next production from Legendary, too.

Check this **** out.....

A few theaters in the United States have leaked that they will be showing the movie in October.

Funimation hasn't made an official announcement yet.

Here's a running list of the handful of theaters so far.

The Attack on Titan films that Funimation relesed made it to about 250 theaters so keep an eye on this.

Shin Gojira is now the highest grossing Japanese Godzilla film in Japan. I assume that stat was reported without accounting for inflation.

It better come here. The blu-ray better come right after.

I REALLY WANT TO SEE THIS RIGHT NOW!

I would imagine Funimation is going to run it through Fathom Events again, which can get a pretty wide base of theaters.

A bit of miscellaneous news, but Urobuchi Gen has announced that he will be handling the Godzilla anime that was mentioned a few pages back.

Works for me. Perhaps Toho will go live action-anime for yearly releases. Still a chance of oversaturating the market, but after the last retirement, give me more Godzilla.

Gen Urobuchi AKA also known as the butcher when he wrote episodes of Kamen Rider Gaim.

He turned a youthful show about kids battle dancing groups to hard facts about growing up.

I recommend you guys give Kamen Rider Gaim a chance.

Gaim was a good show for all that it pulled from Urobuchi's prior works. Certainly one of the works that stands out in the restrictive-laden modern Heisei Rider. But his work on Madoka Magika, Psycho-Pass, Fate/Zero, Kamen Rider Gaim etc. make him a very interesting choice to handle the show.

Some interesting tidbits from a Toho guy on Twitter. Apparently development for this began after Gareth Edward's Godzilla, with Urobuchi's script for the entire series already done. It'll contain more science fiction aspects than prior Godzilla stories.

Urobuchi's work on Fate/Zero was fantastic (and quite cruel) so I'm very interested in seeing how this plays out.

The drought is over. And we are getting movies released on DVD/Blu-ray again.

Here's hoping someone sub leases the Classic Media stuff for a Blu-ray release.

So this Godzilla is gonna transform after sustaining so much damage?
