Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

Endgame seems to be rather sucking the life out of the box office at the moment. Which is a shame, because this looks like a damn fine monster movie.

I said weeks ago that this would be the case. The initial hype may have died down by the time Godzilla arrives, but Endgame will still take a sizable chunk of the BO away from it.

According to Dougherty, Bradley Whitford's character is a take off of Rick from Rick and Morty, lol.

Time for some folks to start panicking for no reason.

To be fair, I did walk out of Sucker Punch and have not seen the full movie since. I would certainly consider that movie unwatchable. I couldn't do it.

Yeah, but I would hardly consider a movie that so far has been getting mostly positive early reactions "unwatchable".

Sure, it might turn out to be not as good as these people claim (seems to be the case with each big movie that comes out recently), but I seriously doubt KOTM will be unwatchable in any sense of the word.

I've been loving a lot about KOTM but the "darkness" aspect was something i disliked in the earlier trailers.
Hopefully it's not that much of a big deal. If it's another GOT s8 e3 kind of situation then i might have an issue with it.

The night shots so far look pretty damn clear to me regardless of what screen I have seen them on. Everything looks detailed and the action can be followed.

Not surprising if it’s on par with the first in terms of how the humans are handled. I wish I could be as excited about this as some of you are, but feels like the only reason to see this is to see monsters fight and not much else.

Human subplots in the first movie were awful.

I hope Ken Watanabe isn't as bad as the first movie.

According to his profile he writes for Uproxx. He was obviously at the premiere and saw it earlier. So take his tweets for what they are worth.

Well, you're making this judgment out of two vague tweets without even seeing the movie first and properly judging it.

Seems to me like you're putting the human element above the monster element and acting like it's the most important aspect, not to mention (taking your previous posts into account as well) that you've already decided you're going to dislike the movie.
