Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

KG looks absolutely phenomenal. I personally love the fiery Rodan.
Godzilla is the one and only. Mothra looks sweet yet a giant menacing beast.

And there's 3/4 more beasts in the trailer that look cool. What a great trailer.

What 2 or 3 other monsters are you talking about, besides the one rising from the sand? I noticed one rising from a forested area, but could that just be Mothra?

Here ya go:

Not sure if it'll work since now you can't see the avatar size limits, so let me know if it doesn't and I'll see if I can do anything about it.

Thanks dude let me check and let you know

I'd say he looks too reptilian lol give him the little ears lololol

Could be Megaguirus? Though it could be that they've invented new monsters, I know a few people have said they don't have the rights to use any more Toho monsters.

Either way, I think there's only four monsters getting significant screen time.
Kumonga? Or just a giant spider in general without naming it, can't copy write generalized giant insects:cool:

Mothra's head/face ....is actually quite faithful
Yeah, she looks much better than the SH Figuarts model we saw a few days ago. I love how faithfully they’ve recreated all these beloved monsters.

I am not a Godzilla fan by any means, but I'm am very happy long time Godzilla fans are getting the type of film they've been dreaming of with all the big name characters.

I mean, we've already had Destroy All Monsters for 50 years...

There are a lot of purists and those still burned by '98.

The fandom is quite diverse. Bound to happen when you have 30 films over 60 years.

Watched the new trailer again.

The first trailer is so, so much better.

Here's the thing with the trailers: Trailer A was more "classy/Artsy" while Trailer B was more spectical. Both were great for different reasons.

Yeah this is a Godzilla movie with 3 new Toho monsters, all classics, now is the time for spectacle and action. No more art, no more human drama, just devastation. Gotta get those asses in the seats.

I got off of work at 7am and for whatever reason couldn't hit the sack immediately. Because I have to come in at 11pm I got the sleep I could. Totally forgot that this was coming out so it was nice to come to the job and remember so I've been watching this new trailer for about 20 minutes straight now.

This is a really good trailer though it's not quite as well done as the first one. But that's fine. I totally get where they are coming from. The first trailer got the buzz going as well as hyping up the long time G-Fans. It was well crafted, lyrical even. But WB also wants to get the ball rolling in terms of the wider marketplace. They had to make a more visceral trailer showcasing spectacle and action over all else to assure the audience that this won't be a repeat of the 2014 films more more slow pace and conservation of sequences with monsters. No, this trailer says, we have human characters and they are obviously going to be factors in the movie, but do not worry, we are also going to have some epic throwdowns with these classic kaiju.

Every monster looks great, with King G being a standout with how absolutely Biblical he comes off as. This is just a beast, but THE BEAST. The first look at Mothra was also great. Awe inspiring but frightening. Rodan looks like he'll be a show stopper with the aerial combat.

Again, maybe not as good a trailer as the first but what they showed us more than made up for it being more a silver medal to the teaser's gold. The hype train is leaving the station. Get on board now people!

Not as good as the Comic Con one but my ticket was sold before this came out because regardless this looks ****ing awesome. This looks like it could be a lot better than the last one.

I will say, for all my problems with Edwards, the man knows how to shoot a movie. I preferred how the last film looked in terms of scale and weight given to the monsters. But if this is done right here, I can dig it. I trust Dougherty.
