Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

I am happy that this was a more spectacle driven trailer the more I think on it. The first trailer seemed to indicate that there is going to be some good dramatic stuff with the human characters. So I'm fine with that being kept under wraps rather than all the arcs and twists being out there to spoil me before I get my butt into the theater.

It's crazy how much this still looks like a painting.

Can I get smaller avy of this one. Thanks.
I can’t help you out with that Kaiju. I just take stuff from Twitter, Tumblr... as you can see from the adress on the links of the gifs...

I don’t make this stuff. I just like to share it.

Just throwing this out there... If King G is built up as a huge baddie here what if it's not Mechagodzilla being used in KvG but... Mecha-Ghidorah?

I joked yesterday saying it was Mechagodzilla, lol. I'd love both to be honest. :funny:

Post Production finished 3 weeks ago...the movie is done.

Agree CGI looks a bit off in some parts.

While post production is done, the trailer could’ve been cut a few months ago while post was still in progress.

You guys know that movie effects still get worked on until the very last day, right? Just because the movie's finished doesn't mean they won't touch up the CGI 'til release.

Cool trailer, I do think the first one was a bit better as this was nothing more than an action reel.

But the action looks good.

Hmmmm ok second trailer looks a lot better in my opinion, im not as well versed on Godzilla so I didn't really know a lot of the monsters so maybe that's why the first one fell flat with me.

I don't get how the moth is going to last more than 5 minutes lol other than that they all look pretty cool.

Major hope is that they learned from the last one and don't have the whole movie so dark you can barley tell what's going on at times.

The first film played it like a natural disaster flick. A force of nature colliding with civilization. The monsters being metaphors of those forces of nature. Its reserved colors and presentation looks like something youd expect from a more grounded film.

This film plays it more like Pacific Rim crossed with a Rolland Emmerich film. A straight spectacle dust em up and colorful destruction porn.

About Big G, I think he looked a lot better in the first film. The dorsal fins are now too big and he just looks fat and kind of goofy.

A Godzilla film being more like Pacific Rim is exactly what I don't want, shame your description feels kinda spot on. I rewatched some parts of the 2014 film and it had the perfect feel and visuals. I still have my mind open, but this doesn't feel as good.

The first trailer hyped me a lot, it felt unique and even mysterious and stuff. The second one felt way more generic, including the visuals. Rewatch the MUTO hatching in the 2014 film, that's to me a perfect kaiju scene, how it's shot, paced, the vibe, the visuals are so well done it looks like a real thing, like I'm right there (and even the surreal halo jump sequence, it's like some quasi-religious experience from some Tarskovsky film, like you are watching a documentary from some nuclear catastrophe, when all feels so unreal and weird yet you know it's happening). The second trailer of KotM feels in comparison like an intro to some PC game or something.
