Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

To me it’s obviously a jet flying toward Ghidorah.
The reason why i do think it's a building it's because of this...

Minute 1:56 of the trailer.
- We see Ghidorah encased in ice. It looks like it's situated under a mountain.

Minute 1:39
- Someone is running through a building that is being electrocuted. Notice the yellow lightning.

Minute 1:43.
- That's the building i am talking about. Notice the 3 blue windows. It almost looks like an entrance to a bunker or something. It has the number 32 on the wall.(I guess the number is a nod to the number of movies made about Godzilla)

Minute 2:01
- There we have Ghidorah standing tall over the "blue building" and releasing the yellow lighting.

So based on Pacific Rim's Kaiju system...what Category would these guys be? :oldrazz:

And there is KG.

The proportions of some of the monsters seem like the fluctuate between shots - if that's KG's heads he can't be as big as the one gif makes it seem where a small light appears to be approaching him unless that light isn't Mothra/another monster but rather a jet (what it looks like to me).

Maybe it's a higher-profile gif, but I know people were speculating yesterday if that was Rodan or Ghidorah, but now I see the other head in the background.

To me it's pretty obvious it's a jet, not Mothra.

Yeah - after watching the trailer a couple more times earlier this morning that jet looks like it's a stealth bomber judging by the shape, it can't be Mothra comparing the sizes of Mothra and KG shown elsewhere in the trailer - if it were Mothra KG's heads would be in the stratosphere.

I think the choice of music was a master stroke. It had heft without being the usual by the numbers French horn blaring thing.
Yeah and it's interesting when compared to the first film's trailer.

If anyone wants a HQ proper can of the SDCC 2018 poster:

Seriously what kind of a fight can a moth actually put up against any of these guys? LOL

They're about as durable as tissue.

Aside from getting in a few laser beam shots, the other reptilian kaiju would tear that thing to pieces.

At these Titan proportions I am sure they will make the old gal seem more than powerful enough to hang with G and the boys. Are we really already gonna start the selective application of reality to fantasy because we dislike an idea a whole year out from release?

The others are Titan-sized so the upgrade in mass would theoretically be negligible.

All I'm saying is unless there is ample explanation in the movie - then a viewer like myself can't help but draw upon what I know of a moth. To make up for it's lack of durability it would need a seriously fierce attack of some kind.

If you absolutely NEED "ample explanation in the movie" for how the giant Titan insect creature that can't possibly exist and shoots "God Rays" is going to fight other Titan sized creatures that can't possibly exist... This isn't the film for you, period. Might I suggest the BBC Documentary PLANET EARTH instead?

I need someone to explain in 100% scientifically accurate ways how it is that the three headed thunder dragon functions.

Once upon a time, a Hydra and a dragon made whoopie cushion, and thus King Ghidorah was born.

The end. :woot:

Is there a documentary to explain your nerd-infused highly defensive sarcasm?

You can hide being generics and "pretend" to not understand where I'm coming from all you want.

But we know Dragons are based on reptiles, which have scales hence the difference between it at a freakin' moth. :loco:
