Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

Anyone else think MBB will actually turn out to be a Mothra fairy?

With the talks of some amount of control or communication with the monsters, I would guess that she and possibly her mother are employed as psychiatric muchas Miki Segusa in the 90s films.

At one point there is some kind of device slammed onto a table. Anyone else think that could be a version of the Oxygen Destroyer?

No,
we assume that what looks like gamera is Mothra's baby form head.

Yeah the whole fairy thing is probably gonna be a more grounded "psychic bond" type plot point.

Yeah, sadly Gamera isn't a Toho monster. Unlikely to show up in a Godzilla movie.

Gamera is still in maximum security for the attempted murder of one of his co-stars. You think that was in the script? That other guy was sleeping with Gamera's wife!

Dougherty tweeted a photo of the original oxygen destroyer a few months back so maybe.

This thing is gonna need a Kaiju sized runtime with all these elements.

I definitely expect it to be longer than G14 and Skull Island. Those two are around the 110-120 minute mark.

It's because of that reason why I think this will be about the same length, maybe 130 minutes at most.

I so need this for my office at work. That is bad ass.

You guys think they jumped the gun a little bit having Gojira square off with King Ghidorah now before the movie with Kong? Like you're taking on a 3 headed dragon with unstoppable powers, how the hell can a old ass overgrown gorilla put up more of a fight than that?

I'd imagine it's not going to be a remake of the original Godzilla vs Kong, there's likely a third creature they'll need to team up to overcome.

Kong is a legend no less impressive or storied as a pop culture presence than the Big G. Godzilla owes his very existence partially to Kong's first film. He's not just "an old ass overgrown gorilla" any more than Mothra is just a big moth or Rodan a big bird.
